Upper limit ought to be a week, but you can spend as much of that time as you want. Just one launch per person, or several?
Honestly I'd rather not limit it too much. Say you can keep it for up to 7 days, and you can do whatever you like in that time. At the end you must pass it off to the next person.

Damnit, I wish I had this game.

E: Altough Civ 4 not working would make for an aqudate excuse to buy this.

And shouldn't this be in play with your buddies? (not that I prefer it to be there, but hey.)

Agreed. And no using of the hyperdrive thing in the spacedock pack, if it still exists. Stick to vanilla parts where possible, using modded parts when necessary.

So who is going first? or should I launch something up (station core?) to get us started?

@Greatorder: ASAS isn't toggleable separately from SAS. But SAS is often useful without ASAS, so Toggleable ASAS lets you right click the toggleable asas part and have it be off while youstill enjoy your SAS's torque.

Why do you dislike them? All the mods I linked do is put in radial-attach capsules which hold various resources.

The mod pack is in the OP now
