Just to clarify, by "tail" did you mean just the bit of us that's an actual tail in snakes, or the last bit of our body? (Snakes actually have somewhat reduced tails.)

Anyways.

Check wounds. If they're obvious, claim you felt something biting at you and aren't sure what it is. If they're not, claim you had ominous and possibly supernatural nightmares.

See if we can use illusion to hide our injuries. Search their mind for what they would do if they had found the former general in this circumstance.

Do not mention supernatural nightmares. Instead, check his knowledge. Who around here is capable of detecting evil? Is his aura of good strong enough to conceal our presence? If so, then go with the thief statement, and scramble the guards. Also, are there any known rival cults around? Not of our deity, of course, but of others, especially rivals.

If we can get away with just pretending that nothing happened that would be grand, are there gaping wounds on our forehead? Do we walk with a pronounced limp?

I got attacked by a thief!
What!?
The guard barges into the room, sword drawn.
He got away already, but he took a piece outta me. Punk got lucky... Tell the guards outside to look up, on occasion.
Shall I get the healer?
Preferably... I'm starting to feel a bit feint.

You both go to the healer. Your host is tough, so you get there without incident.
The healer quickly fixes you up. She's very skilled. Might be a fun idea to corrupt her later.
Once you go back outside, you cast an illusion where one of your cultists is on guard, giving him instructions through an illusionary piece of paper.
You are escorted back to your quarters, and the guard gets a Servant of the Fire to place a ward on the window to prevent trouble.
There you are, sitting in bed. A rest wouldn't be a bad plan, as your cultists can bring the recruits back to the tower with ease.
Besides, your host is really weak at the moment.

We feel like faking a move?
(You probably meant that we felt faint.)

Yeah, rest up a little. Find out what we're "supposed" to do tomorrow as captain.

Also, we have that Orc in jail. Don't forget who jailed him - our host.

Yes, host and us both need rest, but we won't get much rest if we aren't prepared tomorrow. Look into the daily monotonies, standard practise for home invasions and possible assassinations of the general, and what measures the guards take to prevent infiltration by possessors...

Just dropping in to say we just took over the GUARD CAPTAIN, after deciding to start our own mafia, after stealing memories of our main competition from our other host.  If we do paperwork, slip in as many "anonymous tips" as we can.

Lets find the flaws in the guard tactics.

When you wake up in the morning, you notice that your bed has a visitor in it. Guessing from the (too revealing) robes, the visitor is a priestess of the god of sanctuary and hospitality. A healer, in short.
Female magic users have this strange tendency to wear gowns that are somehow both full-length and yet split almost to the crotch. And nobody's convinced they wear a bra.
Basically, they are held up by thin thread and what is assumed to be the collective will of everybody who doesn't wish to see the 230-year old high priestess in her birthday suit. The young one's intact robes are a sacrifice that must be made.
Guessing from the fact that she is hugging you rather closely, you can probable assume you found the lover of the guard general.

Shortly after you wake, she opens her eyes as well and kisses your host on the mouth. She's a fine kisser, but you have no interest.
Gaseous creatures of evil are not swayed by much, even the mountain-moving force that is bewbies.
She gives a giggle after the kiss ,nibbles your ear and touches your privates.
Not one for cuddles and heart-to-heart love-talks, is she?

Now, a priestess is generally not supposed to have romantic relationships, let alone sexual ones. That would make intercourse one of the worse sins.
You know how to play with that. So, what happens next is implied enough so let's move on to after the deed, alright?
The priestess was not prepared for what you just did, so she lies wild-eyed at how it was for her.
Because of the, uh, connection you have managed to place the Mark of Carnifex upon her. She is now unknowingly corrupted and will slowly begin follow your ideals without ever noticing a change.

After that, you get up and go to the castle barracks. The memories of the general indicate how to imitate his schedule.
You have to spend an hour training recruits along with the captains of the guard. This gives you basic response tactics.
On a single target, they surround the target and attempt to use flanking strikes. In case of very powerful foes, casters are used.
On multiple targets, they gather up in a circle and play it safe. The fastest among them uses their cover to get reinforcement when needed. During sieges, a phalanx is formed, while archers use the rooftops for get high-ranking officials.
All in all, they rely on not getting something in the middle of them during groups, and hope nothing gets them from behind in case of a single target.

Sadly, you don't have much info on the mafia's plans, as Mongoose was just a thug.
What now? You still have some paperwork, and then you have to spar in the late afternoon.
What do you do? If you just do your job, please give a plan beyond it, or else it's another short update.

Mongoose was a runner, right?  As in a messenger?  Just slip in tips on where they're hiding out, and let the cops fight the ones we know about.  Though with Mongoose having gone missing, if they REALIZE he's been gone a while they may hunt us down, and they would question the alchemist first...It's up to the other players.  Reveal whatever few hideouts Mongoose new about and potentially cause an early conflict, or try to get the guards to take out as many hideouts as Mongoose sent messages to?

We have two differents approachings:
1) Destroy the militia form inside (fairly easy, just send them in suicide missions without good training/equipment)
2)Work in tandem with the local mafia (I like this more, but we need information, which we can only acquire if we leave our host, and for that we should leave our host at night and use Mongoose then)

You forget the local mafia has the magical know-how to protect even their lowest members from possession and attempted memory theft.  We know WHO the guards are, WHERE they are, and the way to learn to avoid them.  The mafia has underground connections, will compete with us for turf, followers, and income, and won't take any prisoners, unlike the "good" guards.  The guards are our greatest means to defend our-self from this unknown foe.  If we get them killed, we get evil points, but our better-equipped, better-trained, and better-funded rivals will seize power MUCH too quickly, leaving us to either serve them, or leave town.  Big picture.
