Apart from curiosity, there's absolutely no good reason to release Cain. He's even more trouble than Oric, and he's dangerous to everyone in the Warrens. Releasing him to defeat Oric is like suicide bombing.

Wait, is the Target necessarily a Sinister Sibling? Because it seems the only way for Chief to be a Sibling is if Ciro isn't one. Experiment: Have Ciro, Riltia, and Al greet somebody with "I am Ciro, one of the Six Sinister Sibling of Oric the Awesome!" If they are Siblings, then the awesome flashy color text will show up in their speech. Also...

The only reason to release Cain is if we wan to watch the world burn. Though we should totally do this if FFS lets us play on after the main story is complete, which I doubt he will. Seriously though, there are warning everywhere about what would happen if Cain were released. He even admitted to it himself.

Perhaps the Siblings aren't literal siblings, since siblinghood goes both ways.  Maybe the Seven we know and love are figurative Siblings, while Cain and the Chief are literal brothers.
