The upvoted suggestion has no positive outcome.  It's literally "screw with the bad guy to screw with the bad guy."  There's no objective accomplished by doing it.

We have an objective?
Our current objective is to screw up FFS's plot by making an impacting decision he hasn't anticipated.

Actually, I think there is a distinct advantage to it.

The only thing we have ever had to our advantage is unpredictability. We've been thrown into a situation where there is absolutely no "good" decisions. We toss Rilitia off the edge, there's no telling whether Oric will still screw us over or not by cutting the rope or somehow deactivate the magnet heel. We outright refuse, there is the good possibility of him killing Rilitia or all of us. So let's do something he won't expect. Surprise him, catch him off guard with our sheer stupidity. He'll probably decide that we're simply too dumb to live. Which is probably true.  But it gets us out this situation without putting our partners in jeopardy.
...Fair enough. It's still a horrible idea, and if somebody gives us a less moronic but still unpredictable tactic, I'm going to jump on that in a heartbeat.

Revoking my -1 to the Rap o' Doom, and giving it +1 instead.

How about this:

Invite the entire party to step out of the ship, invite Oric to watch. Prepare to push Riltia off, but push Oric off instead.

I feel like Oric might expect that though.

I feel like the only thing we can do which he has assumed we never would (and therefore hadn't planned for) is if we actually go ahead and give Riltia the shove, but I don't really want to push tWoOtA into full xGRIMDARKx territory.

I would almost say we got Magnet Heel for a reason.

What if we (ciro) jumped off with the magnet heel instead?  I doubt Oric would expect that.

We're PoV with Cherish. How crazy would it be if Cherish pushed Ciro off the edge?

THERE's a good way to say "Fuck You Oric."

He'll probably decide that we're simply too dumb to live.
How is this a good outcome!?! How?

We can just use the magnet heel instead of killing out entire party!

Mostly I would be really, really, really surprised if Operation Magnet Heel (and related chicanery) resulted in anything less severe than a new, more specific ultimatum.

I wonder if there's any way we can get Ecco involved in this. He seems mildly rebellious. Actually, he hasn't said anything since we delivered that message from Cain, has he?

Let's distract Oric!

Hey Ecco, how did that meeting with Cain go?

I like this; it works as a delay and a diversionary tactic.

This has my plus ones. It shows Oric that he's not the boss of us, we avoid getting Rilitia killed, and we get to possibly get some info on why Oric wants to keep us alive. It's PERFECT. Oric may have abilities to kill us... But he won't have abilities to save us. Bosses just don't do that. It's perfect!!!
