That was only because of our shield thing. If not for the shield, we would've taken 10 damage. Also, since it fires spheres, it might have the same type of shield we do, in which case attacking it will accomplish little.

It's attacks appear to deal dX d2 damage. We lose one bulwark (1DR) per attack, and we start with five. We have three more turns of invulnerability, and then a turn at which it's at half effectiveness. We can also cast bulwark twice, giving us 11 turns of invulnrability and three turns of half effectiveness to defeat it. And we can just flee into the next orb puzzle room at any time we want.
Plus knight adds two DR, so we are invulnerable when guarding.
Also, the damaging option does nothing.

Yaos did not have DR, and he fired spheres. Plus Fighting gives us knowledge (it's DR, the X in it's attacks, etc).
