Let's see, it would appear that Aeroblast deals 8d2 damage, meaning that the average damage against an opponent with DR 1 is 4. That's...Not great. Alright, but definitely not great.
Worst case scenario is no damage, and best case scenario is 8 damage. This isn't terrible, and we don't have much else to spend SP on, nor do we have many other options to hit Horologe. However, I think I'll abstain from voting one way or the other on casting Aeroblast on him.

I begin to suspect that there is a catch to this fight.

Anywho, our sword is definitely the way to go, as it is now confirmed to deal double damage. Aeorblast is gonna average like 8 damage against this guy (it's 1d8 d2s plus 1d8,) but it looks like our Sword is dealing a flat 14.

Though if it deals a flat 14, 2 more damage would end it.

It would be really convenient if that Combinatorial thing triggered, huh? Assuming it does more damage.

No theorycrafting on the Cain thing?

Quote
In any scenario where I imagine you could fight Cain

Notice how FFS said "Cain", not "Willborn Cain"? This means that we can't fight Cain, which means that entering that zone will either:

1)Kill us instantly.
or
2)Have no effect because Cain can't actually do anything.

Either way, this is very interesting.

Edit: Or FFS might have decided not to type out "Willborn Cain".

Also, after TWOoTA ends, can we have Willborn Cain as a bonus boss? Because it would be a shame if that image went to waste.

Well, it is impossible to rule out a scenario where you fight normal!Cain prematurely. The readerbase beats my expectations every time.

Also, assuming it doesn't take up a turn, check Swordshift's menu after hitting Horologe. It's almost certainly not going to happen, but we really don't want to turn into a Willborn for using this thing.

Maybe a high score gamble mode, where we fight all of the will born siblings in order.

...sequence breaking skills activate!

We bloodshape/buy a watergun, fill it with Seraph's Solace, and fire it on Cain. Even if we are killed, Oric still loses!

See above, FFS. That is ONE idea. Hehehe...

The Cain comment implies that Cain going Willborn breaks the Warrens.  Does that apply to just him or all the Siblings?

Cain for certain, probably for at least some of the siblings. Especially those that have survived through more of the cycles...

But if we really want to break the cycle, Cain seems to be the way to go. Even FFS hasn't prepared for his other form, so this could be difficult, but we can try.

Freeing Cain would be just as effective, but far more difficult... Al using his Shifted Soulstar on one side, Ciro on the other to get him as he dodges? Blowing up the floor he's standing on, giving him access to the next, magical-enabled floor? Using the Heartbreak on him or the floor? So many possibilities...
