That could be pretty good, if "paraplegic" applied to "summoner" rater than "rat". Sure, mobility would be limited, but between wheelchair upgrades and the ability to summon and control rats...ever read Worm? Imagine what Skitter could have done with bigger animals and teeth instead of venom, silk, and wings. Less, but "less than take over a city and defeat some of the biggest capes in the world" is still pretty impressive.

Even though it has been stated multiple times by myself and others, I feel that I needed to make this because all other theories saying the same exact thing were all forgetting the most important part of the THOERYCRAFTING CONTEST: EVIDENCE!

This message, which seems to have come from an angelic source, due to the rhyming, explicitly states that the Cherubs wish to rebel against "the king", and so far, according to Cain's story, the only person in charge of the Cherubs would be Oric.

The Thief took her minions - her cherubs - as tribute. Just as allegedly immortal as their elders, the cherubs helped watch over the dungeon, ensuring all went according to the Thief's plans.

Seeing as to how high they would regard the murderous killer of their masters/family, whom fed them(charge), almost Tyranical in his dealings with the Angels, not tolerating a single slip-up

Hm...could Cain be the minimal, bound form of the Last Seraphim? Both lost their Soul Stars to Oric, and Cain told the Last Seraphim's story to us. Besides, where else would the Seraphim be?

Here's an interesting and probably not-at-all correct theory:

We've only seen one reference to Awesome being synonymous with Holy. Namely, a Cherish tip.



"Awesome-element is SOMETIMES called Holy".
And sometimes, an Angel is called a Demon.
Also, take a look at the Astral Influx's Second Shift.



Notice something? Damage is Holy-locked. Now, why would the adversary of Oric, who is very strongly in-tune with the "Awesome" element, have a soul weapon aligned with Awesome? Why not the Lame element? Simple: It's a case of contradicting names for the same thing.



The names that each person uses for the, ahem, "Angels" varies depending on how they were treated by the system of the Warrens. Those like Cain call them Devils, and those like Oric called them Angels. Now, the average person, if they were benefiting heavily from something named "Unholy", would NOT be in a hurry to call it something as intrinsically negative as Unholy. In fact, they might go the opposite direction. They might name it, instead of Unholy, Awesome. They would also try to demonize the opposing element.
While they might insist that their "Awesome" element is actually Holy, and say that the opposition commands the Lame element, at the end of the day (Er...Cycle?) they're still wielding Unholy powers against a person with Holy weaponry. Now, have we ever seen Oric get an awesomeness bonus? Yes.

(: 13+10 Awesomeness) You try to follow Oric, but something smacks you in the butt. Within moments, you're airborne.

Now, that attack doesn't look particularly Unholy nor Holy, right? If anything, you'd think it would be an air spell, right? However, look at this attack, from Betweenford.



That doesn't seem like a very Unholy nor Holy spell either, right? And yet, since the Angels are Unholy creatures, they most likely have exclusively Unholy spells. So, this means that Unholy spells don't necessarily LOOK Unholy. And, well, that makes sense. After all, Unholy powers, in so many different cultures, are shown to be tempting and alluring. Since Unholy spells apparently run the gamut, they seem to be more useful to the caster. And with that, that's enough insanity for now.

Oh, so that's what "darklocked" in Al's title was referring to. I was wondering for so long.

Hmm. Elemental support spells? Perhaps they'd resist Awesome/Holy? Actually, now that I think about it, the demons/angels are probably weak to Awesome/Holy. It would explain why they're all so scared of Oric, but not really scared of anybody else. How many people do we know who have Holy-element abilities? Cherish is a healer, which makes me think she'll eventually get Holy abilities, but have we fought any Holy mooks?

If that +10 Awesome is applied to attack damage as well, those angels are looking at taking 20+ damage from every single one of Oric's attacks.

BF's skillset doesn't look unholy/dark, but look at the names for his moves. Umbral rend, Ebony Blaster, Shadowy Arm(still umbral rend, but sounding cooler), obvious dark skillset
And Cherish Implies Dark=Unholy.
So Al's Darklock on "Last" rubric ties him into the Seraphs

So far, only Ciro and Oric have been witness having any sort of holy damage anyways, possibly the only thing capable of hurting our little Cherubs.
