How about we solve this without having Cherish hit Al with her soul by just buying a tip about damage absorption the next time we head to DL2? Five fountain pence isn't much but it'd save a potentially dangerous experiment, and the delay isn't too bad if you consider that we have Four ways of healing Al already (Heal, Photorestomeditation, Refresh/HP potions, blood)
Maybe we could get one on sub-menus as well while we're at it, could help us find out what that last spell does (though I still say we should just zap someone/thing with it and see what happens).

I thought we could only get random tips
I'm pretty sure we've only ever really asked for random tips before.
We've asked for (and received) specific tips in the past.

Keep in mind that you're making the assumption that the DL2 town hasn't been wrecked, which it possibly has. If it has, there'll probably be another arena on DL4.

Maybe even-numbered floors have towns and odd-numbered floors are more about conserving resources? It wouldn't surprise me if Oric had set up a gimmick and a shop on all odd-numbered floors.

You're making assumptions here. When I have to make assumptions, I use the most trouble rule. That helps me stay out of trouble.
For instance, what if this is actually a timed mission? Those come up sometimes. What if the time it takes us to move from one room to another is the time it takes Ripriver to do the same, and he leaves? This has precedent--remember when we went swimming and discovered our party had left? We had hardly done anything! And, of course, if we screw up, we've alienated Al and probably Cherish.
And recall, I was against screwing around and then trying Cain. Not to mention that we were asking for basically nothing and Cain couldn't go anywhere. Ripriver? The opposite is true.

RIP Twoota poll.
Indeed.
Got any bagpipes? I'd say some music is in order.

How about we solve this without having Cherish hit Al with her soul by just buying a tip about damage absorption the next time we head to DL2?
-1, that would probably take at least as much time and we don't have the money to waste. And as you said...

Hurting him on accident won't be an issue.

[GreatWyrmGold] gets a little crown. May it forever be his mark of Cain; let no one argue pointless subjects with him lest they receive the same.

Don't forget all those infinite plants in the greens are both grass AND power reagents.  Putting one on with a third reagent type might do fun things.  Power/natural/electric Slog sounds kind of awesome.

Quite frankly, I'm not so interested in Ripriver that I'd cry to see him go. Sure, he's neat and reasonably powerful, but the last "Passive Party Only" member we had went One Winged Angel and almost permamurdered us. Nothing against Ripriver, but if he can't be arsed to sit and wait for his appointed Knights then I say we shouldn't be arsed to protect him. If there's any real time threat we have to deal with, it's probably the fate of Riltia.

Yeah basically. Five pence maybe isn't much, but the risk of any permanent harm from this experiment is negligible to the point it isn't worth mentioning, and Free beats Very Cheap any day.

No reason to not try and keep him, just so we can do stuff now that can perfectly well wait for later.

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.
God help us if we have to agree on pizza toppings at some point. There will be no survivors.

Indeed, we should try and get her back. Somehow. Mail the AI to her after pressing her face on it?

Know what I find interesting?

Cain warned Al not to come closer. He did the same for Proxxy.

So, this could mean any number of things:
1)He doesn't want to kill people.
2)He's forced to warn people.
3)He doesn't want to kill those specific people for some reason.
4)He thinks he would lose in a fight for some reason.
5)He felt like annoying these people.

I find it equally odd that he didn't warn the party. Perhaps he knew that we were watching him during the intermission? Or did we never get close enough?

Also, all this talk about "rules" makes me think that he may be literally unable to not kill people who step in the circle. As in, he's forced to by either his controllers or his insanity.

Either way, I think we should check over the Intermission again so that we can find out more about Cain. After all, if we're thinking about letting him go, we should be sure he won't just kill us.

He didn't intentionally try to kill us, that doesn't count.

...
Well, to start, how do you know that the letter would be intercepted, and that Riltia can get mail? What if she didn't even leave a forwarding address?

Hm...1 and 2 don't seem likely, since I don't recall him warning the party. 3 and 4 are possible but unjustified. 5 is possible, but I suspect that it's because Cain simply knew that these people had nothing to give him that he wanted.

Why does everyone keep forgetting A.G.'s tip
You know the one about not just abandoning people and that every life is worth saving, this includes ripriver and ritila.

I'm guessing part of it is not liking and/or not believing him.

And Ripriver can hold his own. In a castle that was his, with servants that were also his. He has a bit of potential allies.
