Hey, anyone remember that advice given to us not to swap to someone if they don't have the Astral Flux? I do. Let's not.

What if that advice was a lie?

This post could be a lie.

Ciro, use Guard now!

The GM only said that the next attack would be hard to doge, not guard against. So if we guard, we can avoid potential pain.

+1
How much does guarding reduce damage without modifiers, anyway?

Also, scan the Valkyrie.

Ignore obvious GM trolling, continue gauntlet of death funtime magical rainbows and candy
Al and Ciro guard, Cherish heal productively, Slog do a little dance, Goombess conclude research to discover all secrets of the Warrens including the hitherto unknown communication system and tell us everything

Hold on. The Astral Influx has only one slot left, and yet we still have four floors to go after this; DL7 is probably controlled by Oric and DL7 may be owned by the angeldemons. Does this mean that there is one floor owned by one of us?

Now, as far as we know, the people with Soul Stars are all Siblings (except Cherish). This (combined with Riltia's somewhat odd behavior) makes me suspect that Riltia owns either DL5 or DL6, and may be considering stabbing us in the back. Now, there are a few possible explanations for the limited space:

1)The Astral Influx has limited space for whatever reason. Did we ever check the Astral Influx for Yaos? If Yaos was on there, this is almost certainly the answer.
2)DL5 and/or DL6 are controlled by:
  A]Illborn
  B]Willborn
  C]Angels
D]Characters we've already met; Al & Riltia have floors.
3)Not everyone will ever show up on the Influx.
4)Riltia and Al own DL5/6.

In my opinion, the floor owners are probably these:

1]Ciro (we started there)
2]Proxxy (duh)
3]Cain
4]Echo
5]??? [possibilities include Al, Riltia, and the blue person]
6]??? [possibilities include Al, Riltia, and the blue person]
7]Oric (probably)
8]Angels? Demons? I have no idea.

I have the feeling that if Riltia owns a floor, it will be DL6 and not DL5.

I'm almost certain that DL5/6 are owned by Riltia and Al. After all, it wouldn't make much sense if they were the only Siblings without floors.

Unrelated musing: could the revive capsule things be the devices that revive the Siblings each cycle? It would explain the whole "there were supposed to be seven" thing.

Anyway, I think we need to switch to Riltia as soon as possible so that we can figure out what she's doing.

Or maybe FFS didn't think about how many playable characters there could possibly be when he made the game over a year ago, and thought that 8 would be plenty.

The theory I go by is DL1 doesn't have an "owner."  We know Proxxy is the first sibling and Cain is the second, so as such we predict that all siblings control DL (Sibling# + 1).  That'd put DL5 as the Eye (who we know is fourth) and Oric (seven) at DL8.  The missing fifth and sixth are supposedly Ciro and Riltia, respectively.

I'm not sure what that makes the contents of their DLs.  Of course, the whole thing of "Ecco stole his DL from Ripriver" makes that even odder.

EDIT:

Or maybe FFS didn't think about how many playable characters there could possibly be when he made the game over a year ago, and thought that 8 would be plenty.

Not a chance.  He was way too prepared for that.

It worked out well, actually. We've got space for all the Siblings minus the one we can never, ever select.
