Yeah... it doesn't look like the blocks do anything. If there's a puzzle here, you're clearly thinking too traditionally about it.

More seriously, place the two columns against the norther wall to see if that makes an entrance. If not, see if we can take one in our inventory just for the attempt, we might be able to see if it does anything or not from there.

in either case, when we leave the room, make sure the things are lined up so that, should the room suddenly have a floor made of water or something stupid, they would form a path from one door to the other.

Unfortunately, moving the blocks out of the room causes them to disappear and reappear at their starting points, so that's obviously not the solution. You still feel like you're thinking too in-the-box about this puzzle.

The new room is a little more packed. You see an SP fountain and some water on the south end. A Hellyfish floats above a platform near the western door. Near the southeast end, a familiar-looking pedestal holds a Bag Full of Slot.
