-snip-

HEY WAIT A MINUTE PROXXY HAS HER SOUL STAR IN HER INVENTORY! WHY ISN'T SHE ALL YELLOW AND GLOWY!?!

Probably because she is a (semi-)friendly.

Implying that if Cherish had attempted to hit Proxxy back then, it would have zapped her? I figured she was plenty friendly at that point.
Well.... Her star isn't truly active right now. Active party member Soul charge appears on the GUI. And Ciro has never seen her take it out in public.(which was the only thing letting us see Yaos' charge)

Just on a slight side note, did anyone ever try to bloodshape inventory slots?

Yes, we had to build a time machine to make sure it never happened. I still trying to work out how an action in this game change WW2 in our world, but...[/jk]

But I would think FFS would nix that plan.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

In a less rambling and more sensible, laid out way:

-Specific Equipment Slots (Examples: Arm, Arm, Body, Head)
--Purchased like how we do things now
-General equipment slots (What we have now)
--Raised through the use of bags and storage devices, such as our backpack
-Eventual ability to stack more than just coins
--Unlocked later

My sleep deprived crack at it.

Not a bad idea. Assuming FFS doesn't want us to magically sprout slots, it could be easily implemented by making the limited-use slots a specific item like the Bag of Slots (e.g scabbard, coin purse, etc) available for purchase (fairly cheaply, given the restrictive nature of those slots.)

Hm. That got a little wall of texty. Probably because I also am tired. TEAL DEER: WE NEED, LIKE, EACH CHARACTER TO HAVE ABOUT ONE MORE SLOT THAN THEY'VE GOT
This sort of stuff could work. More officially, and if we wanted to stick closer to the current mechanics:

Weapon Containers
Item-specific containers that don't themselves take up a slot. Buy a scabbard, hold one sword for free. Buy a holster, get one free gun slot. Book satchels, potion belts, coin purses... anything you think it's okay for us to be carrying around, we could potentially go buy a free container for. More advanced versions might carry multiples.

This would also retain some GM control, since we'd still be at the whims of availability and price.

Loot Clusters
Give us some way to stash multiple items in one slot, but only if we're not using them. That'd make it useless (or at least unideal) for weapons or the like, but a good way to carry currency, vendor trash, and utility items. Maybe give us a Lootdenser to perform this task with. The icon could just be a cluster of smaller versions of the component loots.

Also if you wanted to be a real dick you could give us the Lootdenser but not the Delootdenser, maybe even forcing that to be a town/storage/random event service.

The specific items cointainers idea seems good. A purse would be the first things I would buy.

Out of all these great solutions, I most like GWG's. It solves more issues with the game than just the inventory. Notably:

*It makes slot size more important for weapons as a 2x1 would take up both hand slots
*It allows us to dual-wield or otherwise utilize both hands like Riltia once did
*It allows ME to design characters that have different biology (Goom-bess doesn't have any hands :P)
*It also allows room for more GM cruelty in a way yet to be revealed.

Thanks, guys!

Way to self-plug. >_>

(Also, I was completely right about it dying, hue)

Considering the seriousness level of this game (it being about -2/10), I'd rather prefer everyone to simply get one or two additional slots. This way, we can consider inventory to be equivalent to 'items that can be used right now (being either equipped or simply immediatly availible (like a memorized spell), as opposed to stuff in our backpack) or whose passive benefit we are currently reaping' and also dual-wear hats, triple-wield weapons, have handless characters use weapons and so on.

But that way I don't get to frustrate everyone with penalties when we [REDACTED]!

Utility items like spells/rings (?)/other non-equipment would still remain where they are and would suffer no changes.

Does that mean we can stack multiple hats on top of each other and put the tower in the Hat slot?

Even if not, we may be able to equip things in the standard inventory as well as the equipment-only slots.
