Okay...
I think I got a theory for the Red Soul Star. It belongs to the Blue haired-woman.
Firstly, we know that the owner of the Star must be "The Thief" that took Cain's Soul Star. We know the person took it because of him not listening to them. We also know from Cain's info that the siblings are each ranked from 1 up. Proxxy (1) is the lowest and Cain (2) is above her, but below everyone else. Meaning the "The Thief" can be anyone that outranks him, though this admittingly doesn't limit the number to just the siblings as it seems the angels (Betweenford and his kind for simplicity) can outrank others. In the
? Story Betweenford said he outranks the person who is chosen to be the next Warden of the Over Soul. But I think we can limit the selection to the just Siblings and Oric, because Cain's terminal is limited to talking to six people.
Now, when Proxxy mentions Oric to Cain, he doesn't react to that. He does react a second later because Proxxy is leaving without telling him much.
I think Oric might be "the Voice".
The Voice: in charge of communications. A lazy, condescending asshole. He thinks he's so much better than you just because he's got the 'code' right.
Oric is definitely condescending and his talk about wasting energy seems to paint him as slightly lazy.
(In fact, considering the taunt Cain did towards the voice I wonder if Oric wasn't checking out the validity of Cain's joke. Cain did say that "the Voice" falls for it every time.)
Oric also seems unlikely to be "the Thief" because "the Thief" will live forever according to Cain, but there is the conversation between Betweenford and Blue Girl. The one where Betweenford thinks Oric's time as Warden will soon be over.
Also looking at Cain's screen I put this together:
We know 1, 2, 4, and 6. Now that leave 3, 5, and 7 (Oric).
Now if I'm right and Oric is "the Voice" then that paints an interesting picture, but one with a single flaw.
The idea I see is that the ranks go up from left to right and from bottom to top. The exception being "the Target" who appears to be in the highest
position as far as rank goes. "The Target" being Ciro of course. This might have an interesting implication of its own.
"The Thief" is either rank 3 or 5. Does this mean Ciro is 3 or 5 too... or does this mean that there's an unrepresented figure?
Now that we limited the rank there's another interesting thing to mention.
Here the Blue Girl creates a Sub-D teleport panel. Which a lot of people connect the shape on the Star to.
Blue Girl made an appearance just before Ciro entered Over Soul Mode. Ciro interacting with her could explain why the Red Soul Star appeared during the Soul Star Search. Blue Girl doesn't quite match up with Cain's gender description, but the bulk of his descriptions pointed out that most of the people he knew changed genders constantly anyway.
I guess I will have to point out:
Purple Soul Star and its owner. Taa-daa.
Though to note here. Yaos lacks that title of "Guardian" which seemed to be a designation for Siblings which seems to indicate that Yaos is not a sibling.
Also previously in Slog's backstory it seemed to point out that Slog had a Soul Star too, but quickly lost it. Slog's story mentions a hand reaching threw him:
(Roll: 12, 2!) Betweenford casts a series of confusing illusions on you, twisting you around as he rends his shadowy arm through your chest from behind. (Roll: 3!) (Roll: 5!) You slash at an illusion, and Riltia turns around.
Kinda makes you wonder right?
There's seems to be a slight implication that anything without a Soul Star inside them is an Illborn. So Al being a Generic (or Free Soul as Ciro calls him) might still be in one piece.
A Soul Star doesn't have to be a sign of a Sibling. In fact, with Yaos and Slog it seems likely that anyone who enters the Warrens has their Soul Star removed.
I'm not really sure, but I thinking its coming together. The more I see the less I'm sure about the Red Star and Thief being Oric. But if it isn't Blue Chick then I think we may need to think of a different perspective on "the Thief". Because maybe the Thief is the person with the ability to tear Soul Stars out of a body in the first place. The immortality implies someone that has see more than a couple cycles. Perhaps Betweenford with his ability, crossed with Slog's story, his authority over the Warden, and finally his implication that Blue Girl has only seen 3 cycles where he has seen many many more... Perhaps Betweenford is the owner of the Red Star.
