How about we try to reinforce the chains. As we can clearly see, resisting results in an even greater force pulling us back. Hence, defending the chains may cause whatever magic brings them back to see them as a ploy of us to escape, and break them.

We're evil, not omnipotent. Besides, this shit is probably like the noble gas of magic stuff, it's not going to react. We need to break whatever system makes it rebind to us, not brute force it.

Let's see if we can find the maintenance menu on that console thing.
