We tried moving it; that didn't work, so we need to try something else. The addition sign often means combining things, hence we should try touching the key and the lightning bolt together.

The symbol, when taken with the additional symbol of the triangle, also means "Move down", or "Below". In a top-down format, it could also mean "South of". So it could mean "Use the key south of the lightning bolt to open the door".

Or it could be "X+Y>Z," or combining the two will get you the third.

I'm slightly concerned about the lightning damaging the key and don't think there's any reason to use it yet anyway, seeing as we don't know what it's for, so I'm mildly in favor of just waiting.

I doubt it matters overmuch, but I kind of don't want to be carrying around a lightning key or shuttling things to and from storage until we actually find what it goes to.

Why didn't anyone get key from storage, touch lightning bolt with key yet? Bloodshape rubber gloves or something if you're worried about conductivity.

Also, lightning can't have a lock on it guys.

My suspicion is less that the lightning is 'unlocked' by the key, but that the key needs to be 'charged' like a battery to open the door that requires it. (Which we probably haven't found yet.)
