You scan Al after nabbing the Polar Eye from Slog again. It shows you what looks to be a list of his potential abilities. Wonder why it only goes up to Tier Four? Maybe that's the maximum amount of stat-related stuff he can have.

Bloodshape can be used to create or absorb equipment from your own life fluids.
Sexiness Ring gives you +5 to Persuasion.
Cupid's Assault costs 8MSP and deals 1d8 Long Range damage. This means that it gets a large to-hit bonus when you're far away from a foe, but a penalty when you're close. You can spend additional SP to imbue your shots with extra damage (1SP per damage).
Polar Eye can be activated to scan your friends or foes once every five turns.

Locking Glass provides 2 Damage Resistance for three turns to any ally or foe. The additional Lockdown effect prevents them from moving from their position (only allowing item use and such). Lockdown can be deactivated, but doing so increases the SP cost from 5 to 8.
The Ilegal Wepun of Morder deals hefty physical damage (1d10-1) but has no additional effects.
SKILL: GUARD (+4/+4) provides a +4 to defensive actions. For example: when guarding, Riltia's hidden Armor Class stat goes from 10 to 14.

Druid's Bulwark raises a persistent shield of five glowing orbs on Al or one of his allies. Each orb provides 1 Damage Resistance for a cumulative total of 5 Damage Resistance. However, each point of damage taken when the shield is active destroys one of the bulwarks, decreasing damage resistance. This spell can be further enhanced with additional SP to either make the Bulwarks deal elemental damage on hit or explode violently when all five are destroyed.
Al's Blade is a basic sword that deals 1d6 damage and provides a +2 to Stealth when equipped.
Polar Plunge is a powerful greatsword that deals 1d8 Electric damage. It also reduces the critical requirement from natural 20 to natural 18.
SKILL: NATURE (+3/+3) provides a +3 bonus to the to-hit chance and/or effectiveness of all Nature-based abilities (including Druid's Bulwark).
SKILL: PERCEPTION (+1/+1) makes it easier for Al to spot things or hide from foes.

Frizz deals 1d4 Fire damage. Fire-elemental magic is highly valued as it deals double damage to most biological targets.
Spellbook of Breeze provides the spells Windirection, Aeroblast and Chilling Storm. Windirection can be used to either levitate allies or harmlessly knock targets over.

Or we could re-enable tactical combat, have Riltia guard while Al jump-pokes that one on top (so he can't get us from behind), then do more or less what we did to the last batch- guard through their attacks, the club them once they come out of their shells.

Slog: Windirection Mets to expose their delicate underbellies, and/or cause flipped Met to accidentally fire towards its buddy instead of us.
Al: Bulwark Slog to protect him.
Riltia: Pull back/crouch so that Met above you doesn't shoot you in the back of the head.
Ciro: Stay behind Al and Riltia for cover and stay frosty.

Because the Mets fire a spread shot, the one by the boss door probably can't hit the party, but can hit the Met in front of it, if the latter Met is flipped. And that Met, flipped 180 degrees, would be firing into the doorMet from below. The third Met can't do anything to the party if they hang back under the ledge.

I'd suggest having Riltia Locking Glass a Met to hold it in the down position, possibly causing a backfire, except I'm not sure if it'd do that. It might just make the Met nigh-invulnerable. Or she could Locking Glass Ciro, making Ciro a great source of cover that can shoot Cupid Blasts at stuff. (Just because of their names, the Sexiness Ring really needs to do something in conjunction with Cupid's Assault. Maybe charm the target?)

Also: That looks like a boss room. I'm scared. Ciro should conserve SP for a stronger shot in case we need to tackle the boss after this.

Edit: Alternately, Ciro could reabsorb the rifle for MP and take the Spellbook from Slog, whose MP is running low. Then Ciro can do mage-y stuff as needed.
