Another good one? Equip a bunch of asteroids with cloaking fields, and drop them in orbit over a inhabited planet, in stable orbits. Sure, space is huge, but do you really want to gamble your life?
That's only half of the genius. He figured out a way to make it look like his ships were dropping something like 3 times the number of asteroids that they actually did. So even after the Republic managed to find all of the real asteroids, they stayed safe under the shield because they feared that there were far more still waiting.
He used dry firings IIRC.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say.

What would happen if you crossed the streams with the rivers? National geographic ghost busters?

Vulcans compared to Eldar. Not fighting. Just... Comparing. Matching wits?

Honestly this may be, to me, too much of a good thing so to speak.

Or rather when combined together they don't make the show any better (as they don't add their positive qualities together) but rather they will just add their negative qualities together.

Sure they are over the top fighting shows, but they have dramatically different protagonists, villains, and methodologies.

They don't mix is what I am trying to say.

I... don't really recall the Vulcans being much for the whole plots-within-plots thing. Romulans, maybe? They're probably closer together in terms of moral alignment, though the newer Eldar do have the whole hypercontrolled thing going on. But that's about the only thing the Eldar have in common with the Vulcans, I think.

But... Eldar aren't really a logic race, from what I recall. I mean, they're cunning little space-elves and they're damn sure smart, but they've a bit too much psyker in 'em. Very much emotionally controlled, but that's 'cause th'whole Slaanesh fallout, not... whatever reason the Vulcans did it for.

Really, though, the Eldar are a lot, lot, older than the Vulcans, iirc. Also much more competent (or at least more prolific) plotters and orders of magnitude higher up on the dick scale. I'd imagine the Vulcans would promptly end up pissed off and possibly pissed on. Maybe literally. Eldar work in mysterious ways.

As I recall, the Vulcans practice emotional control because they naturally have very strong emotions. So sort of like the Eldar, except the Vulcans did more than engage in continual debauchery, and they didn't spawn a Chaos God.

Fairly sure the Eldar did more than continual debauchery, too (though, uh, "debauchery" is kind of lowballing what they got up to but anyway!). I mean, they more or less conquered the galaxy for... quite a while, iirc. They just ended up with nothing to do, or something along those lines, and then, welp.

Then again, th'Eldar are kinda' bioweapons, so... I guess the Vulcan's are running with a handicap, so to speak? I'unno. I just have trouble seeing th'Vulcs having much luck with any comparisons.

That's the general trend for ST v. anything, really. Even just in terms of comparison rather than actual combat. It's all very much scaled down in STverse, not least because pretty much all of the material focuses on the lives of a few members of the crew of a single ship/station, and the galaxy is relatively tame, especially if you're comparing it to 40K.

I have not seen TTGL, but from what I hear it's full of over-the-top awesome, just like Asura's Wrath.

I give the universe a week, especially if Asura and the giant robot start fighting each other.

really i feel sorry for the Imperium in WH40k.

they are the only faction that doesn't act like complete assholes just for the sake of acting like complete assholes.

The Imperium is just trying to survive, yet....

the Eldar are arrogant, holier than though, common-sense lacking space elves who for some reason like to take the most convoluted paths to their goals.

the Dark Eldar are pretty much the same except they have the added 'bonus' of depraved sexual desires and deviant things that would make even Slaanesh blush.

The Orks are, well, the Orks.

the Necrons are freaky genocidal zombie robots.

the Tyranids are brainless galaxy devouring monsters

the Tau are space communists who want to forcefully convert everyone to their way or kill them all.

and Chaos loves to take a dump on everyone every once in a while for shits and giggles. Doubly so if its the Imperium.

I really have to argue against the Tau being communists. They're far more equivalent to a Hindu society rather than any sort of socialist society.
