A lot like Jedi, really. Some of them channel the Force in order to become nigh-unstoppable warriors. Others read minds in order to spy. Others can influence the actions of other people with varying degrees of subtlety. Don't forget that the Emperor was powerful enough to significantly bolster the effectiveness of pretty much his entire fleet without any sign of external effort.

I like the Corellian Jedi: They can absorb energy. No telekinesis to speak of, but they can absorb energy, INCREDIBLE amounts of energy, and do the mind trick supah awesomely. To other jedi even. Blaster bolts don't affect them at all, they just absorb them and use them to power minor telekinesis.

I've...never heard of that. Where was that from?

Sounds like it would be more related if we put a Sith (duo) in instead of Jedi, like Darth Bane & Zannah. One to pound on the psyker with a lightsaber, and the other to scare the shit out of him with whatever is hidden somewhere in his head.

I, Jedi by Michael Stackpole, and... Hrm, oh yes, Rogue Squadron books. Mostly the Bacta War, the Krytos Trap, and the one right after Bacta War. They talk about Corran Horn. He's a Corellian Jedi.

Ah. I've never read those books, and never saw anything referencing Horn's abilities
(I know who the character is, though.)

Wait. You didn't read the Rogue Squadron books? o.o

Hey now, it's forgivable. I've... only read some of them. Iirc, they started come out about when I was starting to phase out of star wars reading.

Also, I could mail you mine. I've read all of them about five times each. As well as the Wraith Squadron books.

Hell, in the Yuuzhan Vong books, Wedge Antilles tries to lose a battle to draw his opponent into a false sense of security.
He fails.
He fails at losing a battle.
He fucking wins on accident. Against an enemy that basically curbstomps everyone they fight so far.

And then he takes a fighter from the hangar and defeats two enemy squadrons in a dogfight. His subordinate, who is now a goddamn General, calls him, reprimands him, then says, "I don't know who you are, Blackmoon Thirteen, but you might just be the second best pilot I've ever seen, after Wedge Antilles of course."

Wedge Antilles: So bad at losing, not even the YV could succeed all of the time.

I've never read the Yuuzhan Vong books either 

The local library only has three things: the Thrawn trilogy (which I own), one or two New Jedi Order books that seem to be all about the Solo kids, and the first book of the Sun Crusher trilogy (I own the whole thing). I own the Crystal Star and the first book of the duology where Thrawn "returns", as well as some reference books like the Chronology, which is my only other real-life source of Star Wars data.

Like, the Chronology covers events of the galaxy but from an in-universe historian's perspective. I know that Corran Horn battled a Yuuzhan Vong warlord for the fate of Ithor, but after Horn won the battle the Vong basically ashed Ithor anyway.

New Jedi Order is for the most part, the Yuuzhan Vong books. Starts at Vector Prime I think, ends at The Unifying Force some ~20 books later.

Yeah, the Yuuzhan Vong was a huge series. HUGE.

Also, Crystal Star was... Not terribad, but not very good either.

It didn't help that Crystal Star was the first EU novel I read (at a fairly young age, too!), which led me to all sorts of WTFs

"Han and Leia got married? They have three kids? There's more Jedi now? Why is Leia sneaking around in disguise and stuff?"

And so on.
