Discworld, the fucking bestselling bookseries by Terry Pratchett that is amazing.
Twilight, the bestselling but really shitty bookseries about sparkly vampires.
Oh! OOOOOOH. Derp.
Discworld wins due to having gods and demons and other crazy stuff.

I think that's kinda unfair. The disc has dozens of protagonists, of varying degrees of badassitude, whereas Twilight has Edward Cullen's pasty soon-to-be-kicked arse.

It would still be fucking hilarous. Also, THERE we go Xant. Sometimes man, I wonder about you cats.
(Shit, I'm talking like three-dog. I need to stop playing some much Fallout.)

Winning aside, I think I'd be amused by a well written collision between Twilight vampires and Discworld's Fresh Start Club. Poor sparklies.

You can also insert Rincewind into just about anything. The universe just hates him that much.

How would he do in the meat grinder of 40k, then?
For that matter, how would the luggage?

Depends on where exactly you drop him into the universe at.

A lovable coward who runs into more danger than away, and an impeccable aide who always managed to be there right when you need it? in the 40k universe?

Nah, totally wouldn't work

On the flip side, luggage is... I'unno, my knowledge of discworld isn't exactly encyclopedic. Is there anything that managed to really do anything to the luggage? Besides get eaten and/or terrorized by it?

Because I could see the luggage being dropped off on a daemonworld and somehow the entirety of the Eye of Terror and the Webway ending up in the luggage's belly by the time th'luggage got back to Rincey. S'got a bit of an "unstoppable force" gig going, that trunk does.

I don't know anything about 40k...but what if you introduced them to Metroids?

Or X?

I don't want to say Samus because we all know she could beat those Orks and uh...stuff.

Eh... it'd depend on the Ork. Some of 'em going toe-to-toe with Samus is pretty conceivable. On a wider-scale engagement th'Orkz would win outright simply because they're basically impossible to get rid of short of Exterminatus or planet destruction and individually they're a lot more capable than, say, Space Pirates (plus there'd be a lot of them and, well, the more orkz you get together the harder it is to take down any particular one of them.). Orkz are actually kinda' kickass when they're not being plot-waved into flimsiness. Considering what they were designed (in fluff, mind -- they're effectively bio-weapons) as, that's not very surprising.

As for Metroids and X, they're both pretty small change compared to... well, a lot of the wooglies in WH40k. X in particular are basically the same sort of danger vector as daemon possession or 'nids and, well, lots of stuff have ways of dealing with those. Metroids have some things going for them but, well, from what I remember most of them are weak to explosives. And in the WH40k 'verse, that's... kind of a critical weakness :P

In WH40K, being weak to death almost counts as a critical weakness.

Don't the Necrons have Death with them. The Nightbringe or whatever his name is?
