Giant Sponge as training dummy
« on: January 15, 2013, 07:10:35 pm »

So I finally found my way out of the cavern that I stupidly saved in a week ago, and travelled west through the night with my two lady friends, a spear woman and crossbow woman, to drink from the river. I found a sponge in it and my lady friends decided it would be fun to bash at it until they drowned. LOL

I decided to conquer my sorrow by getting better at my skills and bash this sponge all through the morning dawn. After seeing my speed increase from attribute raises I checked my skills but none increased and I was newly training with an iron whip, I don't remember where I got it, but I never even got Dabbling skill in it.

maybe you have been bashing an unconscious giant sponge ? Bashing on unconscious creatures gives no skill gain.

Yep sorry. You won't get far with a sponge as a training partner.

You'd get better results by wrestling a carp for defensive skills and making a macro for harmless attacks (flat side strike to a tail or something)  for attacking skills.

How did you even get a giant sponge to be unconscious?

I think it can become if about to drown, only way to get to that is for it to be next to a waterfall in adventure mode I think.
