I meant thematically.

Mechanically I would expect antmen to have better numbers, but be much less individually capable, and thus who would win would not be a simple thing to answer.

Would ant men be a bad addition since we already have spidermen? My first thought was one insect race was enough, but since ants and spiders are so differing I thought I would ask your guys thoughts on it?
Depends on what you do with them. The K'lak dont have the unification and central social structure that ants have, plus they are largely magical. So you should be fine on that end.

Might actually make a decent counter-species. A slow-growing magical fighter race vs fast growing physical unified race.

EDIT: I cant help but be amused that the magical crystal spires have less magic stat than spiders.

What ever you end up bringing in is what ends up in it, do note that for the most part the various races exist only as legend to each other, if that.

Magic links with magical skills for both attack and defense (basically its a synergy, the higher they both are the higher the end result is) same as the spider armour makers and their toughness.

So if my racial supernatural powers are not offensive or defensive I will not need the magic stat?

If so I would like to request a magic stat of zero to represent a race unable to actively channel magic, and put my supernatural points into a more passive communication ability.

Or not, whatever seems appropriate to you.

A magic stat of 1 is necessary due to back story, which I'll get into later (basically the rapid evolution is magic based) if you don't have at least 1 rank in magic you end up as just another species of wildlife.

Oh, and communications falls under civ. You automatically posses the ability to do the equivalent of caveman grunting, anything more costs points. or you can rely on your IQ at a -2 rank shift.
