What is the organ of love?
« on: January 14, 2013, 07:46:46 pm »

no, penis means lust.

In English, it's the heart.
In German, it's the heart (herz).
In Malay/Indonesian, it's the liver (hati).

I think because the feeling comes from the center of the chest, but heart has a romantic connotation in that "you're in my veins/you keep me alive".

Just curious, what is it in other languages?

The association was made because your heart starts beating faster when you're in love.  Also because the brain is just a big cooling thing.

Pe-- oh okay.

Hmm, I'd say the skin. How can you have love without beauty and sense of touch?

Definitely the center of the chest. Or the heart. Infatuation, for me, feels like my heart has been removed and replaced by some empty but warm...thing.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

In biblical Hebrew the emotional center was the gut -- I would assume that love would be there too.

(the heart was decision making and head thought making)

More like a...fire in a vacuum. It's like heat, but it feels like a black hole.

Penises are out, but what about vaginas? Women feel love too. :P

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Eyes. Humans are vision-based animals, so it'd stand to reason that their sense of perception- including of, say, love- would be vision-focused.

Does this mean I'm only capable of half the love of a normal person?
