M249 and drums

Ive been raiding both the armories in the game non-stop trying to get an M249, but I have yet to get one. Ive gather hundred of M16's, M4's, and peices of body armour. So, I was wondering, whats the chance of getting an M249 and drums from either armory?

100% the first time you raid an armory, 0% every time thereafter.

Maybe there's a bug? There should be only one way that it's not giving you an M249, and that's if it already gave you one. Works the same as the Desert Eagle from the CEO Safe. Check your safehouse inventory for it if you haven't.

Alright, I checked each safehouse in game, and I don't have an M249 or any drums for it. Its very odd.

Curious: only the MilBase armory should do anything with M249s if I read the trunk version of mapspecials.cpp correctly.  Looks solid enough that I'm thinking the m249 flag shouldn't bleed over.  Is it somehow not initialized as "false", perhaps?

No, again this was just a matter of my own idiocy, after the my last post here, and a little more playing, Im remembered that my original fight squad died and only one person survived, and I sent him on a suicide mission at the army base, and I figured Id crack the armory thinking Id get another M249 later. He was able to break in and grab it, and died a few steps later.

Oddly enough I thought this was a suggestion about having one of your members carry a drum to march you all into battle... giving you some sort of shooting bonus.
