Well if we do start again I vote for 10 years of horde. I played a practice game of 20 years, managed to get France, Spain, a large chunk of west Africa, Germany, Greece, plus areas in the Balkans and Italy.

I donno, even as Ross the reclamation slows down as you run out of money and as your levies shift from partially-barbarian (several tens of thousands) to only a couple thousand (no, seriously, I went from tens of thousands to 4500 while owning 3/4ths of Britain and Ireland).

In addition, three one-county vassals of mine could raise 1000 or so men. So the players would have serious vassal problems, especially since you won't have many family members due to time travel bullshit...

The wonders of counties with next to no holdings and barely any upgrade to their name. Then again, the game is probably balanced with a very long match in mind.

Channel #Bay12CK2, if no one minds?

Well Crusader Kings 2 was never meant to be balanced, at least from what I see.

Afterall even if you have tons and tons of cash the victor is not decided by wealth but by the points they have.

It is possible to have a lot of points with less cash.

Unfortunatly a bunch of us have CK2 on Steam which auto-updates so we are forced to use the 1.09 version.
Oh, no, I have it on Steam too. That version is 1.09, so I assume that we all have the 1.08 version of the mod, which says it is compatible with 1.09x.

That is only if you see it as a dynasty-building game. The de facto winner might as well be one with the most swords to back their words. Just take our last EU3 game as an example, GBR was the wealthiest nation in the world, but Austria and Russia, and not GBR, were the most threatening countries in the continent. In the end, sheer wealth is often not what is the most important, but rather, your effective military output per front you ought to defend.

In an effectively sandbox game like CKII, points don't mean much. They're just... there, for whatever reason. They only matter to you if you want them to matter.

Actually, I don't really know which version of the mod we have chosen to use yet. As I mentioned in an earlier post, mod version 1.08beta is compatible with CKII 1.09 with minor file manipulation. So we'll have to decide still.
