GWG has a point zan, I think we should be starting with more than 0 food to at least avoid famine(5 food sounds about right)

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Incidentally, how do you get more food to avoid eventual starvation?

Which is very useful in telling us how we play, but not so much at telling us what we should or even can do.

To get food you need to claim land (by clicking on the "unclaimed" label after selecting a tile). Plain produce 2 food, hills and forest produce 1. You can also increase tile's food production by building farms/hunter camp on them (selecting the "no improvement" label). They each cost 1 labor to build and produce 1 food/turn.

Speaking of labor, how do I get it? Is it generated by Population and just not shown by the Resource Tracker thingy?

It's generated by cities. The bigger they are, the more labor.

Cities, but not towns; or cities and towns, but it's not tracked on that "Resources" thing?

The amount of labor produced depend on the city size.

Small Town (2 pop): 0 Labor
Large Town (3 pop): 1 Labor
Small City (4 pop):1 Labor
Large City (5 pop): 2 Labor
Metropolis (6 pop): 3+1 Labor

To attain Metropolis level, you need a special building that give +1 labor (the engineer's guild). Hence the +1.

Labor is tracked in the ressources panel like any other ressource.

Ok, I can't download the map through Mediafire, because Mediafire is shit.

Anyway, I'd like to get the map. Could someone give me a link to the correct one on something like dropbox, box.com, or the like?

Tyrar or someone else will need to upload it to Dropbox, due to me being unable to download it (which it seems to require) to the computer I am using.

um... all the slots are taken...

You're using Sheb's Crusader states until I fix the map details.
