How to disable hunger/thirst/moods?
« on: January 10, 2013, 01:57:06 pm »

I'm a huge newb (only been playing for about a week) and although I've brought my fortresses to up to 200 population successfully I haven't been able to build anything super interesting.
I'm very interested in building an efficient fortress and I'd like to set up a fort that allows me to enable/disable hunger, thirst, and moods so I can test designs.

Does anyone have an idea on how I could do this?

EDIT: I went and actually bothered to read the wiki, so I figured out how to do it. My bad.

You can mod the game, the dwarves etc to be a bit cheaty or just different. Is this what your talking about?

K for others wondering reading http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2012:Cheating and other things in the Wiki do help

You can disable hunger and thirst editing the raws, that are located in DF\raws\objects. You can open creature_standard.txt, and add the tokens [NO_EAT] and [NO_DRINK] to dwarves. The entire list of tokens that you can use are here: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Creature_token#N
