Oh, thought of one thing for my char to specifically do:

establish a rough biocrete barracks, a rudimentary training field, and have the militia start regular drills(nothing erodes discipline more than an idle army!). Also begin routine patrols of the perimeter of the settlement and have a couple squads assist building the perimeter fence/wall

Also, can I get a rough estimate of how many of the colonists are part of the security force?

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Just a note, it's not a real tank. No heavy battle tank anyway.

Dogopus. If that isn't appealing, how about cowimari? (Remember, my character's a gengineer.)

I'd prefer a catfish, large, doesn't require much food, builds muscle mass quick, and breeds quicker. That'll give us plenty of fish to eat.

I also need like, four large pools that I can dig out of the rock and line with rubber. And a fifth larger one to harvest food to make pellets for the fish.

Light tank / APC
naturally decided that this meant that it was either a light tank or an APC, and assumed the former. Sorry.
