Month 3

Spoiler: Actions (click to show/hide)

Some basic improvements are made to the mining site in order to stimulate the mining effort. A warehouse is also constructed at the base in order to free up space on both the ship and inside the habitation bunkers.

A small team make good use of this opportunity to start an expedition to Laythe. They store a good deal of water, and manage to catch some of the animals. Keeping them alive proves problematic however. Algae in the water rapidly multiply, clogging up the vents and filters causing a great deal of the animals to suffocate. In order to make things worse, it turns out that the algae secrete a semipoisonous substance, which luckily doesn't appear to be lethal.

The animals found are interesting to. Most of them are fairly small, and replicate rapidly. However, all are heavily infected with a variety of dangerous substances, and mutations are very common.

Drilling into the Casserite deposit proves to be kinda problematic, and is further problemized by the uncertainity of which mining site can use which kinds of material. The Copper mine does well however producing signifcant amounts of copper.

Harvesting the plants goes well, and the harvest is bountifull and should last you for quite a while.

Exploration of the crashed ship proves worthwhile, though very difficult. With some difficulty you manage to exavate the next part of the ship, and continue down towards where you expect the reactors to be. Unfortunately, you can't get that far, as the sand is blocking the path. You do, however, pass by some small docking bays. Inspection of these reveals a whole lot of scrap, as well as a small transport and a damaged fighter. Both are heavily damaged.

Back at homee,  the refinery continues to churn out copper, though production is nessecairilly slowed down due to powercuts.

((Oh, and just a note. For some reason the cargo units used here don't match with those on Salvation. Just multiply everything times ten to get the Salvation's units.))

>Construct expand Warehouse  (20 people)
>Continue mining operations      (same numbers)

I can't really think of anything else right now.

I think we just need to get the fighter up and running so we can modify it to carry interplanetary cargo, for short recon trips and such. Like fish.

...We still have the ship we landed in, as well as what appears to be a dropship.  Why would we ever need to modify the fighter?  Furthermore, we should get more fuel before we attempt restoration.

Posting to read.

May i have a person?

Name: Jim Bobfish
Job: Artificial Selection Specialist (think bio-engineering but with breeding.)
Age: 30~
Bio: Raised on a world that, due to a lack of regulation concerning genetically modified organisms, died a horrible, gory mess. as such distrusts GMO's and at the very least wants LOTS of testing on them.

Agreed.

Earl will be analyzing the remains of the organisms brought back from Laythe and sequencing whatever form of genetic coding they have. In particular, focus on how compatible these would be with Terran biochemistry.

As will I. a xenobiologist should do his job after all.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Well, I don't have much more I think I need to do now, except make sure the Marines are drilling and helping with construction
