manarack gives mana(worship). Also, we still don't have the plant soldiers' ability to morph their arms into any weapon or shield. Maybe we focus on autonomy on the creatures we created like someone mention earlier the firejacket queen.
First, we need the army to be organized though. We can't just have everything bum rush our enemy. We have foot soldiers, but for all the shit we created we have no heavy artillery and only meager air support (which also happens to be our main supply of income. NOT A GOOD THING).
We also have the giant silk spiders that produce silk stronger then armor.

while prolly cool, I think we probably still have a pretty sufficient suply of weapons laying around from the orcish and undead delivery boys. morphable weaponry isn't really a concern I think ( also we have a literal shit tonne of bone arrows laying around if im not mistaken)

I do like the idea of a firejacket queen, autonomy is a good thing.

Fuck it. Lets create a set of gourd-like trees. They will launch their seeds, which not only explode on contact with the ground but also sends out spores, these spores can grow new gourd trees or they can act as a nerve gas.
While the trees are immobile they
A: Launch exploding seeds, flinging shrapnel and nerve gas reproductive spores
B: Can be controlled by Eldrick or someone else with a Life boon or
C: Also be made autonomous so that when a life boon imbued person is unavailable the trees can somewhat help defend, albiet much more inaccurately.

The reason I suggested morphable weapons and shields is to expand on rolepgeek idea of a mutation gene. Basically, our army should be able to mutate or change to overcome new challenges, this will allow our army to be unpredictable toward our opponents. Add this with a hive mind with the ability of individual intelligence and you got a efficient and unpredictable army.

Really, their is no point right now we should focus on defense.

Some beetles can fly... Did we ever make those fire breathing beetles?  Could be good a good air force.  I also like the idea of something big to carry our soldiers into battle like a troop transport.

Oh and not trying to be annoying or anything but tree towers please!!!  They could produce new troops and act as the center of our military hivemind.  Not to mention they're good defensively they could have natural built in turrets like seed launchers that explode with spores.  It would also serve as a barracks or defensive civilian housing if we need it.

They are for defense.

Ok, here is our army roughly grouped:
Air Support: Firejackets
Ground Troops: Fungus Spawn
Heavy Artillery: None

What I'm trying to make:
Air Support: Something that doesnt also produce our main source of income.
Ground Troops: Fungus Spawn, also add something more resilient than wont be cut down by the dozens
Heavy Artillery: Gourd-Trees.

This is a good idea but maybe we should secure the perimeter of the forest with maybe those chaos vines using those tree towers at the corners. Also rolepgeek mention of some type of flyer that can bend light around it rendering it invisible. It could also understand language with the purpose of being a spy/scout.

...those ARE for defense...ever play a Tower Defense game?

Oh, and I support the "improve the plant soldiers" idea. And the "make the trees work for our defense better" one(s).

See, this is why we should have intimidated them. Oh well. Probably would have only meant they'd be prepared to fight. Why do we need heavy artillery again? The fights so far have been at close range, where heavy artillery will hurt us as much as them. Heavy artillery is rarely useful for anything other than pitched battles and sieges.

Also, look at my troop suggestions.

As for air support, we could always make 'demons' or 'dragons'.

Heavy artillery is for when the enemy is rushing at us, like when Maher and the Orcs attacked, or when they are running away we can bombard them. It'll look like WWII, enemies rushing toward the village under hail of exploding shells and nerve gas, thinning the herd for the ground troops to destroy.

Heavy artillery means that they wont get reach us for close range combat.

"Hey Bob we've almost made it to the enemy city!  See it's just about a mile away."
"That's great Jim, I've heard these guys have a pretty small army compared to us, should be a peace of cake."
"Yeah, seriously shouldn't take long at.... hey wait.... what's that falling out of the sky?"

Dragons?

The perfect mixture of Life and Fire? Which causes Chaos as it sets upon the village?

We have, good sirs, our tank.

Also I was thinking that the hive mind was a great idea. If you've played any of the Mass Effect games, you know of the Geth.

We need a plant-Geth. Make our sapsoldiers have a hive mind network that grows more intelligent with each new member. Oh, and treat them well. We don't want an uprising.

Yeah but we are the hivemind or at least the largest part of it.  The tree towers would be like conduits for our willpower and intelligence.  Sort of like nerve cells in the body or brain cells making up part of the larger brain.

How about this. We have dragons as aerial tanks. We have the gourd trees, instead of releasing the nerve gas in their explosive shells, release the same spore as the Fungus Spawn in their shells to create more soldier with each bombardment along with reproducing more trees. The soldiers will be slightly autonomous (kinda like a dog), but will obey the orders of the hive mind without question. The hive mind is the network of gourd trees with connecting root systems, this also allows someone with a life boon to take direct control over a portion of the trees and fire them manually. The Fungus Spawn will be given a carapace created by hardened resin excreted through their skin. This resin will also be flammable and explosive, so that if we get desperate we can send out a couple dragons to ignite the bodies of fallen Fungus Spawn, causing a massive chain reaction that will hopefully take out the invaders with it.
