You remember. You had been jogging when you had found a small wooden idol at the side of the road, in the shape of some bestial man-wolf, hunched as if ready to pounce. You picked it up without thinking, and promptly forgot about it. You reached home when you put your hand in your pocket, only to find it was filled with some kind of black sticky substance that was leaking out of the wolf, which seemed to have grown more menacing; you could have sworn it's eyes glowed. You suddenly felt as if some plague was flowing through your veins, rotting your being, your very soul. You died that day. You woke up on the carpet, covered in that sticky goo and unable to move. Some kind of ethereal smoke was floating in the air and moving towards you. Suddenly it darted towards your open mouth, and went inside. The goo shifted into a pile besides you as you stood up, looking very much the puppet. "Now now, looks like little Glen Understudy is resisting!" chuckled a voice besides your own, echoing in your mind. "Who-What are you?" you had said weakly, struggling to find your voice. "A puppeteer, a puppet, a builder and a destroyer". You suddenly experienced a cruel yanking sensation, and you were thrown out of your body. You could do nothing but follow as what used to be your body walked out the door and hailed a cab. You finally, after your credit card was drained, managed to get it in a mostly secluded park when you decided to try and get your body back. You darted forward and entered it's mind, surprising the demon enough that you got a tendril into it's mental armor. You writhed and twisted and tried to pry the wall apart while dodging the demon's attacks. You finally had a hole in the armor, and stabbed into it's vulnerable consciousness, absorbing part of it. You stabbed repeatedly until finally there was nothing left. Still somehow calm, you sat down on the park bench, and wiped off your now mud-stained pants. You had told no-one, and found your powers individually at your home. You had gained the ability to manipulate shadows, forming it into armor or weapons. The fight with the demon revealed your latent psychic powers, telepathy and the ability to absorb memorys and even the entire person's soul, rendering them a pale, inert husk. You shudder at the memory of how you found that out. You had pondered your powers, and finally decided that evil powers, do not make evil people. Still, its going to be hard to get started, you need to design a costume and everything...
