What's going on in your games?
« on: January 01, 2013, 09:50:43 pm »

Exactly what it says on the tin; we got a megathread for how you last died in a game, and a megathread for how you last owned, but what about just whatever happened between those moments? some of the games mentioned in other megathreads sound interesting, and it'd be cool to read some more details on what the game's like.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the moment I'm playing a female orcish ranger named Dul. I've gotten some great gear for the class, such as two stacks of blessed daggers to throw, an amulet that grants telepathy, boots of levitation to be worn whenever I want to float and kite enemies, the standard +2 cloak of displacement and a bow with two sacks of arrows from starting, as well as gloves of power, a helm, and +2 chainmail, as well as a +3 dagger for close combat. A bunch of the gear my dog "borrowed" from shops for me, so I got to be well equipped without spending much, heh. Then there's some nifty tools I found like some potions of sleep, two random cameras for blinding tough enemies, and a credit card for lockpicking.

It seems like the RNG is feeling gracious recently.

What's going on is that I just missclicked and hit a bomb.

On a more serious not, I've recently won the UEFA champions league after 17 seasons with a very low league team in FM13.

Resident Evil 4.

Note to self: Go wild. The one thing that takes up the most space in my inventory is my absurd piles of rifle ammo, and shotgun shells are close behind. I'm running out of space for healing items and grenades and more bullets.

I was asked by an acquaintance to pick up a package for them from the post office. I ended up killing a dozen men, destroying several vehicles and burning somewhere around an acre of land to a crisp as well as blowing up a few flammable things that got in the way.

Odd part is that it wasn't a particularly valuable or notable package. That's just how the post office seemed to work.  I believe the box contained a truck part.

For the first time since I downloaded the game (about three months ago), my business as a merchant netted me more than 80,000 (which is enough to buy a good ship)! Of course, all good things have to end sometime unfortunately, Whilst delivering gems from one sector to a 'colony' in another sector, I accidentally shot a Confed who was defending a jump point whilst trying to shoot a Pirate.

Not only did the Confed almost kill me before I escaped, I can't even go to the colony that provided me the best profits via my gem-selling because it is swarming with Confed ships. Not to mention almost every single colony with a functioning economy has Confeds guarding them.

Great.

I've just imprisoned and executed my heir. At 35 you should be better than your eleven years old brother and at least have the time to produce an offspring.

Not exactly dying, but I accidently flipped my truck carrying explosive material after I took too wide of a turn on a highway. I think I may have killed a few people. The entire time I was listening to an 80's radio station.

(From the "How did you last die?" thread)

Discovered this game, started playing, nearly had an amazing crash when an AI car driver heading the other way decided to overtake (by entering my lane) and drastically misjudged its own speed, an event that I found to be incredibly realistic.

I'm running around villages collecting as many peasants as possible for my great "crusade" against the enemies of my king.

OK, I have to reload the save.
There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.

I burned myself out but never really stuck with a team :( What's a good N1 or N2 team to try to bring up through the ranks?

- As far as what's going on, I just sold my first PLEX on EVE for a nice 560mil ISK profit. Also finding Anno 2770 to be surprisingly fun

Believe I've found a suitable giant owl statue design. Now I just need to figure out how to design villages properly.

Getting bored with Metroid Prime, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and fire up Perfect Dark on the N64. This game has everything that a good first-person shooter needs: the levels are large and open, the guns all really fun to shoot, and the graphics are very nice. Probably my favorite Rare title (haven't played the Banjo games yet, don't crucify me).

I've been trying the game with the optional AI partner, Velvet Dark. She's actually rather good: She has yet to shoot me in the back, and I haven't had to rescue her from any doorways. The bad thing is, she can only ever equip a Falcon 2 (the basic pistol) and has all the HP of stale toast. However, it's worth it to have the extra meatshield on higher difficulty modes.
