Does fire burn one item at a time, or one stack at a time?  In other words, if I had 30 rags on a tile, would all 30 burn at once?  And if I had Gasoline [500] on the ground, would it burn longer than Gasoline [1]?

All items at a time ._.
...I know, I've tried.

All those rags...

All that gasoline will...err, how you say, 'blow up spectacularly'.

So... I can't make a pile of infinite bodies and use it to keep my base warm for the entire winter?

Well, it will keep your base warm for as long as your base's expected lifetime.

For me, that's years.  I've already rolled back over into spring, survived over a year.

Are there electric heaters?

Or, could you also put heaters into the walls and have it heated that way? :D

Most indoors are naturally warmer, really, so heaters aren't super needed...  However I've piddled with farming, and realized you get a LOT of cotton seeds, which means a lot of cooking oil, which can also mean a lot of lamp oil.  I want to have an oil drum of lamp oil, burning forever.

Put in another way, if you set fire to a pile of infinite corpses next to you, you'll be warm for the rest of your life.

Wait, fires work by checking a date and not a date and year? If so, how much cooking oil does it take to craft an eternal pyre?

'Give man a fire and he'll be warm for an evening, but set a bunch of other people on fire and he'll be warm for a lifetime'?

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

More like "Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for an evening. Set him on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life".

Also, holy fuck guns are LOUD. I shot a child zombie with some birdshot to test out the sawn-off shotgun I made from a gun store. Next few in-game hours were me fighting the zombie horde that summoned. I gained 1-2 levels in unarmed, melee AND dodging from that. I guess I'll save it for shockers and the like.

That's just shotguns.

You'll only spend one in game hour fighting stuff with smaller things, and even less time if it has a suppressor.

I've been noticing that just about any sound at all brings hordes from miles around, even smashing the furniture and window in my starting shelter. I learned to just tear down the curtains to make my bow.

Wait, fires work by checking a date and not a date and year? If so, how much cooking oil does it take to craft an eternal pyre?
I don't believe there's any year stat. I think there was a bug where spoiled food would unspoil upon the arrival of Spring. I don't know if that was fixed. Probably, since it was an old bug.

... Yes, the hugs are for everyone.  No stabbing, though.  Just hugs.

I can't build an improvised shelter despite having all the required ingredients and tools.

Is this a bug or am I not able to build on in the forest? :P
