Also fungal beds burn pretty well, last time I checked. So there's that.

Yeah, though Fungal Towers/Spire are immune to fire IIRC, but fire is the best way to clear out Flowers or clean up the aftermath of a Bloom/Tower.

I noticed something odd, and could repeat it : my character has by now 5 in melee and 4 in cutting after combat knife killing near to than 60 zombies .

While he's destroying zombies of many kind rather easily with his combat knife now, every single time he is fighting an animal like a rat or a raccoon, my character -never- hit, he can only miss.

I'm basically forced to switch to ranged weaponry to have a chance to hit the damned thing.

Combat knives, IIRC, have a penalty to hit. Zombies are fairly large. Easy to stap. But little tricksie rabbitses just sort of gallivant around and make you look like an idiot trying to stab murder them. With a Rapier[+2 to hit, bitches] and around the same skills as you, I can hit teensy weensie rabbitses fairly consistently.

Cant cook on it. It is good central heating.
Is it possible to cook and boil water over lava? Or does it just make a good zombie trap?

Well, it was possible some time ago. Doing so was a BAD IDEA; remember, you don't have to touch lava for it to burn you!

Ah thanks, i didn't noticed the penalty, will have to give a closer look.

Martin Woodard so far is doing very good, 4th day of survival, woke up and exited at 4:25 of the morning (still dark around)  from my current base to continue my daily perimeter cleaning.
Thanks to a wrist watch i can know the actual hour, 90 dead zombies have been butchered (gave me 3 levels of survival apparently) to avoid re-raising so far and skills are improving nicely without having grinded for them, i had enough stuff to get water cleaned daily and my skills are enough to hunt without much danger (killed 3 wolves a day ago).

I don't think i'm ready for zombears yet (wish i found more ammo for the rifles i have, found some for rifles i don't) , but that swat armor i found 2 days ago is sure very very useful.

My priority this day will be to repair windows of my base, just in case zombears spawn.

That's a pretty dangerous level of torso encumbrance; what are you wearing? Each level decreases your melee accuracy and increases your movement and melee attack costs; that's probably a large part of why you can't hit smaller wildlife.

So does the fungal ground keep spreading and spreading until I kill the fungal bloom?

Ah, the SWAT armor is where all that is coming from. It's got some pretty good armor values, so just remember that you'll be slower and less accurate with it on.

So does the fungal ground keep spreading and spreading until I kill the fungal bloom?

Adult fungaloids will spread fungal growths while wandering around, so in an indirect way the answer is yes.

BWAHAHAHAHA
Best discovery, i just found out that, while otherwise a worthless melee weapon, this anvil i found has FOURTY bashing power. With this i can smash through normal house walls in a single blow! PASTEL SMASH! (Character is named pastel)
And given my current equipment it only barely over encumbers me, excellent
Edit: son of a.... damnit. Murdered by a zombie in the darkness as safemode failed to prevent me from wasting ten turns trying to hit it, ugh

Ah thanks, so it was it, not ready to remove this anytime as it has been very good so far , i'll just avoid fighting small animals :D

Using an anvil as a hammer... probably not the silliest thing I've ever seen.

Now I'm imagining someone forging a sword by pounding it between two anvils.

Thats sorta how some people do it.

By which I mean that some metal things are made by dropping anvil-like molds on semi-molten metal.
