Pretty much, as it should be. Have you ever tried to cut a fish open with 3 layers of gloves on? It's not easy.

You can't dissemble sheets, you need to cut them up. So you also have to go through the trouble of making a stone knife if you don't start with a cutting implement. (Grab two rocks, smash a window, dissemble long string, make stone knife).

*Edit* also, despite the name you don't actually use a knife in the construction of a knife spear, so you don't need two knives.

I think there is a makeshift knife you can make with thread, and you can get thread by disassembling string all the way down. One second let me check. Yep, makeshift knife in piercing weapons, requires 100 thread or a few other possible choices in a similar vein, a spike, and no skill.

If you have encumbrance for warmth, you're playing it wrong. Unless you're descending an ice lab or something.

Try wearing even 2 layers of long underwear. It's restrictive. No glove material is a single atom thick, so it will cause some grasping issues.

I like descending into labs at all times of the year.

Found a mansion with only five zombies in it. Odd layout though, there's like four game rooms with pool tables, two pools, and about four dining rooms, and a large central library. And NO bedrooms.

But I'm playing as a bookworm build (Fast Reader, Good Memory, 12 Int) so it's pretty much awesome. Built a stone fireplace and slowly using up one of the dining tables as firewood, got plenty of food stocked away, the pools are potable, and there's no zombies nearby so I'm good to re-enact "The Last Man on Earth" 'cept I don't need no stinkin' glasses.

Long underwear is kinda constrictive, but you can wear two sets of it.
