people are getting all fungified

Needs a good hook for the last mutation, some disease/poison tweaks on another (the fungal fighters should certainly be able to fuck up your day after you hit THRESH_MYCUS: they're designed to kill fungus), and a good solid round of testing.

Shocker brute versus geared up fire(wo)man? I knew I shouldn't have used my fire axe. My corset did not save me. I was doing so well!

I've learned the hard way, Shockers are the most dangerous enemies in the game. Hulks are dangerous, and packs of dogs will rip you to shreds, but shockers can deny you the ability to act and that is the most dangerous of all. Noise danger be damned, shove a shotgun up their ass and pull the trigger.

I was geared up to walk through a flaming gas cloud in a blizzard unscathed. I lasted three rounds with that brute. Rerolled a fireman and ended up in the same start building. Found all that gear and no brute two blocks away. I get my new life, same as the old life, corset and all.

I gave in to temptation and been playing new unstable as Robocop. (several incarnations) I must say tank drones feel like the most unfair enemy so far. If you get killed by zombie hordes or the like, you can track your death to a bad decision you made. Tank drones just murder you. I had one stroll across me on a road middle of nowhere, no miltary bases or anything near.

While I agree there to be a need for lethal megamonsters - whether Great Old Ones or tanks or mechs - but it would be nice if you'd need to specifically seek them out (or have a good chance to hide from them). Now that tank drone felt like a frustratingly random fuck you.

Not annoyed though, just giving feedback - now wondering if I should start throwing naked survivors armed with a rock at the tank drone just for luls. Maybe it eventually runs out of ammo and the 997th naked dude pounds it apart...

Are tank drones vehicles or single tile units?

Why was the difficulty ramped up so much?! Dogs, mini-gos, and feral hunters almost every game within walking distance. It seems that unless you have fleet footed you have a good chance of dieing. Playing the really bad day scenario? Good luck surviving the first day after your 50th character.

Dogs, feral hunters and mi-go aren't that bad with a decent character. What I always die to is infection, does disease resistant help with that?

Disease =/= Infection. :P
Both in the real world and in Cataclysm.  Infection is understood in the sense of contamination while disease is the end result of an infection.

...So no. That bacterial infection is going to stay no matter what, because of open wound and all.

I usually carry around every first aid kit I can possibly find, and lather those all over any possible infection.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah, but I though that maybe disease resistant could help you survive the infection.

You can (painfuly) clean infected wounds before the actual infection spreads if you have some sort of knife and a lighter by (a)pplying the knife and cauterizing the wound. After that, only antibiotics and royal jelly helps.

Wasn't that changed a while back? I though cauterization made things worse now.

It can make things worse.

Infections can also be cured with antiseptic powder as well. I.E. while they're still blue, not green.

When they're green, maybe... amputation could be possible? :>
