Just got an augmented muscles CBM from a shocker.  Installed successfully!  It's there on my p screen, nice and passive even.

Only it doesn't appear to work.  Says it increases strength by two, and it cannot be activated, but my strength still shows as 11/11.

so, I used DEBUG to give myself a Muscle Augmentation and tried testing it. It worked for me, but I did have to "activate" the bionic after it appeared on the passive list. :

EDIT: I use the version 0.8, current stable release. I didn't try any experimental as my character haven't died yet.

So shrubs are the carp of Cataclysm DDA?

Nah, mooses are. They are pretty badass

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

After the blob invasion, looks like the other part of the town saw a smoker invasion, killed at least 6 of them, they're incredibly fast too.
Filter mask got a lot of use there.

Yeah, stay away from mooses. They will wreck even well equipped survivors.

. . .Well I punched a moose to death.

Not counting the fact that I was not encumbered, and had 4 skill in Unarmed combat with 3 in Dodge + Ninjutsu.

So..yeah. Minor injuries aside..

Do you have any power?

Yes, full power at 32, currently and as of install.  But as a passive CBM, it shouldn't use power?  I tried to activate it anyway, but it cannot apparently be activated.  Which makes sense for a passive, but still, it doesn't seem to 'work'.

so, I used DEBUG to give myself a Muscle Augmentation and tried testing it. It worked for me, but I did have to "activate" the bionic after it appeared on the passive list. :

I'm also using the stable 0.8 release.  And I did try three times, checking status between each try in case I was somehow deactivating it and reactivating it.  My strength stays at 11/11.

Mooses
Mooses.
You disrespect the MOOSE that rule my land.
I burn a sacrificial adventurer to you, who have the answer to the everlasting riddle that is the plural of moose and beg you for thy forgiveness.

I've actually died to bears more than moosen. One character survived melee with a jabberwock for several rounds, then got torn up by a bear while he had the flu.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

I had one particularly lucky/badass survivor who stabbed a bear to death with a pointy stick. Unfortunately the universe he existed in was completely destroyed to make way for a newer one that broke less often.

Eh, I've beaten a bear to death once armed only with a nail board and starter armour.

... after it had dealt with 3 well-armed NPCs (whose stuff I nicked from their cold, dead hands).

I've never actually had trouble with moose-beasts.  They fall pretty easily to anyone who's armed.

That would make an amusing short story. Aliens come through rebooting the universe to version 1.0.122 due to bug fixes.
