Older gas pumps with dials have a 9/10. It removed the need for a decimal.

Update on the city size option, I tracked down what was making it ridiculously slow, and the change is waiting on someone else to verify that my code won't set your printer on fire or kick your puppy.
With those changes, it's now where it should be, taking approximately 6 seconds instead of 30min+(or never completing) on the largest settings.

For the curious, turns out it was two things.  First the sewer and subway generation code was busily building a fully-connected graph between every manhole and subway station respectively.  Once you had more than a certain number of stations in play this just exploded.  It also made far too large a sewer and subway system.  The second issue was that forest placement was taking (sometimes literally) forever because its implementation was to repeatedly pick a spot on the map at random and evaluate it against proximity to a city.  On the largest city settings, there was literally nowhere to put the forests, so it just kept looking forever.

On a side note, does Cataclysm support km/h or mph conversion. I doubt it does, and I doubt people would go through the effort to convert it. After all, you get so used to one system that you often don't check whether it's used or not.

Metric system is the best.

Yea metric is the better system.  It's just hard to start thinking in metric when you were taught imperial your whole life.  With hope our children's children will live a metric existence.

Using the imperial weights option does have one advantage in Cataclysm though, which is that it gives you a slightly more precise view of exactly how much weight you are carrying (since weights are displayed in tenth-lbs/kg depending on your settings).

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

I will be honest. I can't even keep the American system straight in my head and its what I learned first. Sure metric is easier but I doubt I can learn it at this point as one of my problems is names for stuff which I can't seem to remember for the life of me. Don't even ask me to describe liquid weights, I know a few but have no clue how they connect to each other.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Metric FTW!
Just recently we switched from "quarter-lbs"... <_< (no comment)
to grams for item weights.  Then we convert to either lbs or kg for display based on the option.  I keep meaning to add "slug" "stone" etc as options. :D
Same for temperature etc. though for that I keep meaning to make temperature display fuzzy and relative.  I mean why does your survivor know the temperature to the degree all the time?

More fun with measures, we use quarter-degrees for gun accuracy.  The only change we might make there is switching to a more common measure called MOA (minute of arc, 1/60th of a degree), which corresponds to one inch of deviation at 100 yards.  This is significantly more resolution than we need, as the entire play field is about 60 yards or so in radius.  More than we need is a good place to be though, and there are no down sides :D
