The "/" inventory management screen is AMAZING. "Hmm, I need to sort my shelter after smashing everything inside of it. To the / screen!"

Also, the shelter is obscenely well stocked to get a person going at the start, even if nothing spawns in the basement.
Amazing what you can do with a pipe, rock, and some nails!
Have they fixed the crowbar crafting thing yet? Last I looked you could use a rock or a hammer to make a pipe into a crowbar, but not a crafted stonehammer.

I think this one was fixed a few days back. We tried to update all of the weird ones like that to allow proper tool use.

What about Movement Keys remapping?

I remapped my movement keys for ergonomic reasons, but examining, and smashing, and using items can be quite a pain.

And I'm right now completely unable to drive.

I just lost an amazing haracter cause I assumed the turrets that guard military bunkers couldn't one-shot me. Oops.

Protip: At night, their vision range is so low that you can walk through the hallway without getting shot - you can take your leisure shooting them or throwing rocks at them one at a time.  So long as you don't activate a light or step into their light, they're blind!

That's what I was doing. It didn't work. Pity too- That character had the shockwave bionic, and I hadn't gotten around to testing it.

I've actually been finding lots of stuff in the starting evac shelter basements lately.

Their light is the one tile radius around them, right?

2 I believe.  Maybe.  I've hit a bunker and an outpost at night, and the turrets seemed to have different ranges of light.  Bunker had 1 tile, as they couldn't see into the hallway, but outpost had 2, as they could see the fence and 1 tile beyond.

I should be safe on the gas tanks... since I've scouted 3 towns and a suburb now and not a single one has a gas station anywhere. Also it's rained for 4 days straight, so my scoutbuggy is out of juice. Time to... eh... craft?

Is there a cheap way to train rifle skills? I just snagged a railgun and I belive there was an FN-SCAR on some army corpses near my shelter, but I really don't want to burn my one box of ammo apiece on pointless skillup misses that will just degrade before I find moar booletz... (I assume there's a gun book, but there are no gun stores either).

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Honestly skill rust is just too fast right now, skills start degrading mere hours after you last used them so I typically just turn it off.

I'm tempted to do so on my next play. Within 2 days of setting up an electric car I had completely forgotten how it worked and couldn't fix the solar panels. Now I have to... go cut apart other cars... to remember how solar cells work. Yes.

Duh, turrets produce light. So, yeah. It seems to be a function of if they are close to another turret or not. I'm looking at a set of 3 of them, at night, near a base by my shelter. One only produces light around itself in a 3x3 square. The others produce an extra tile of light between themselves. So.

Code: [Select]

With the & representing areas of half light, the same sort you get at the outer edges of a flash lights light radius.

Edit: Confirmed this. Did a quick raid of the nearby outpost. Turrets dropped fast between heavy wooden arrows and not being able to shoot me. Came out with 300 rounds of 9mm ammo, a bunch of electronic parts, and 800 batteries, at the cost of like 5 wooden arrows wrecking themselves. Have to be heavy wooden arrows, but they're worth it.

Railguns Bionic uses the Throw skill.

Railguns Bionic uses the Throw skill.
With 6 in Electronics and a Vacutainer, you can make a laser that uses battery via UPS to fire, training rifle.  But again, skill rust is pretty brutal.  I turned it off.
