I woke up this morning with some kind of tip for playing, but I don't remember what it was.

Oh!  It was "slow the fuck down when zombies are chasing you and you're in a car."  When you're driving a car the zombies can't really hurt you, but they sure as shit can if you lose control and plow through a building at a hundred miles an hour.

More advice regarding cars: when trying out your first babby's beetle, make sure there isn't three wolf spiders, a bear and a cougar on the road you're puttering along on in 14 kph. Those assorted animals will hate your guts for all the noise you make and climb into your car and make you dead so fast that you'd think they had supercharged battlebuses of their own.

In other news: one dead in Someplaceville, killed by local wildlife.

These stories make me happy. The Beetle is working as designed.

They designed it as a deathtrap?

Never had a problem with beetles, as long as you don't try to sleep in.

Also, another note: your monster-proof RV might not be so monster proof is you park it in some other direction than straight up or horizontal. I learned it hte hard way.

Yeah you need dual layered plating (boards) for 100% monster proofing at all angles, or just remember not to park diagonally :P

Any update on 0.5 too? Probably won't play again until the update as I juste ended a largely successful run (By mistakenly using my M203 instead of the rifle at close quarter range).

I think this captures the essence of Cataclysm.

My martial master got destroyed by Dungeon of Doom aka Lab with teleporter pad on only exit.

Also are turrets are supposed to be mobile or that is a bug ?
Both friendly and hostile turrets seem to teleport around when out of view.

Blame it on space-time anomalies for the time being I guess.

I designed it to look like a Bug for the most part and have awkward blindspots, which can make it a deathtrap. From the driver seat you have a front left, front right, and back right blindspot. Probably twenty percent of your field of view is blocked. I wish I could have blocked more but there's only a 4 x 4 grid to work with and wheels do not and should not block line of sight.

Code: [Select]
VEHICLE ("Beetle");
    // vwbug
    // oHHo
    // |--|
    // +HH+
    // o\/o
    //Volkswagen Bug. Removed back seats entirely to make it feel smaller. Engine in back and cargo/fuel in front.

First succesfull run, drive a quadbike into a wasp-infested town, crash into military surplus store, fight zombies behind racks, do drugs, escape trough the other window, get murdered by smoker.

Wee!

Spoiler: The Killdozer Mk.2 (click to show/hide)

I almost wish I knew math so I knew exactly how much force I'm imparting into squirrels when I run them over.

P.S. I also have a plasma rifle I could install, but if I put it on the front it's just gunna shoot stuff I'm already about to flatten.  So I'm going to put it on one of the middle tires, but I need a second one to keep it symmetrical first.
