That sort of reminds me of the fuckhuge randomly appearing beeswarms that I used to get a few versions before DDA. Except not as obviously (heh) bugged.

I like the random towns that are all black widows and wasps. Its not just me because I have seen other people come upon these towns. Whats up with them?

Protip: Don't try and fit steel plating to a vehicle while it's in your inventory. I just spent a full 24 hours fitting it at speed 1, until the weather changed and I could abort it.

It does seem odd, the rate of spider spawns. Jef remarked on it during his recent stream of DDA (which was awesomely entertaining and I wish he'd do more!) He'd clear out a street of zombies, walk a few steps away, and when he came back... BAM! Wolf spiders and jumping spiders all over the place. They had literally appeared to populate a section of the city that was cleared not even five seconds ago.

I guess they do make for a never-ending supply of spider meat, if you're into that sort of thing. And chitin. I have so many chitin boots lying around. :P

Try hardware shops and pawn shops. They're probably your best bet.

You can disable monsters in the monstergroups.json file in the data/raw folder.

In the latest build, are NPCs still considered too buggy to play with? I've just compiled everything and notice that NPCs are a toggle-able option. I'd be interested in trying out a martial arts character, but stayed away from it as NPCs (and thus teachers) were disabled outside of potching around with debug commands, etc.

They are still a bit buggy to play with (although those bugs tend to be fatal), but you don't need to mess around with debug options to get them. Just change the settings under the settings button on the front screen for npcs.

Oh, I meant that with the current release, I had heard that you needed to use debug commands to spawn them in, which I didn't fancy messing with. Typically if you need to use that sort of thing to get something to happen, it's best that it not happen. But as the version I've compiled from the git repository has a simple in game option to enable them, I was wondering if they were more or less safe now.

Thanks for the quick reply though, I'll be sure to keep backup saves of my save-file in case something crashes due to the NPCs :)

Also, I'm now severely radioactive, and accumulating mutations like crazy. Any other effect from radiation, apart from these mutations?
