I'm a little new to this...

I cannot scavenge in cities worth anything. None of the doors are open, so I have to smash a window, which rouses like a million zombies.

How do you even scavenge? Aren't they supposed to spawn an hour later in-game time? I can't fight them off with a wooden spear, and I usually walk away much, much worse for wear, if I ever do.

Some door are not locked, you can also use crowbar or picklocks to open with less and no sound, guess wich one does no sound. Also only rob houses on the outskirt to have more chance, or you are brave enough rush to the nearest parkinh lot and pray for a running car. Then rush out to nearest gunstore and again hope for the best.

that was a luky dwarf. I had one dabbling surgeon fail so spectacularly that the patient skull flew a tile away from the table.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Used to be they wouldn't spawn for an hour, now they all spawn immediately in trade for being able to completely eradicate all the zombies in an area.

They also don't see as far as they used to.  I think the green Zs see about 40 tiles now, so just seeing a zombie now doesn't necessarily mean they also see you.  I think the direction indicator in the top right will turn red if something in that direction has noticed you.

If yer willing to put a point into mechanics you basically have all you need to make a crowbar in and around the evac shelter.  Smash a locker for a pipe and go outside for a rock, and you can make a crowbar, which can pry open doors.  It's not silent like it used to be, but it's quieter than smashing a window.  It's also a decent weapon.

And when yer meleeing a zombie try to get it in a bad position, they go slower through stuff just like you do.  A lot of people like to beat zombies to death as they crawl through windows or try to bait the zombies into attacking from a shrub or underbrush tile.  All the time they spend moving into the slow tile is time you can be performing brain surgery.

Bushes and such are really important to fighting multiple zombies out in the open if you don't have good ranged combat. By dragging a horde past a good bunch of bushes you can hopefully separate a few out and kill them while the rest of the horde is behind some terrain. With just one zombie though a couple of bushes means you don't even have to take a hit lest its a really fast one. I night do a strategy thing one I finish my next video, which looking at the time I should probably have been recording already...

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Somebody recommended that I add "android" to my character build and I do not regret that. Starting off with some bionics gives me a random edge that is usually superfun to explore.

Hmm for fun I think I'll say a interesting quirk about the game.

The fact that you can just walk into a pharmacy and buy "over the counter" codine is hillarious :D

Or that Adderall is basically speed?

I'd say maybe this game takes place in Amsterdam but I wouldn't be surprised if even that country had perscription medication.

Amsterdam is not a country D:

Is it, now? Compared to the rest of the country it’s like a city-state thrown into the whole of the Netherlands. Third party view, though, so speak as you wish.

All I've got to say is what with all the drugs and crazy home design and infrastructure, it's no mystery why this world went to hell.

It may even be possible there is no zombie apoc and this is all just one really crazy drug trip everyone is on.

I'm of the opinion that the reason why you can go whole weeks without finding humans is because everyone went on a bender a few days before the zombie apocalypse that left everyone dead and all the drugs scattered about their homes.

Ive oh so slowly cleared the small town near my starting evac shelter. Neat thing: shocker zombies can butcher into CBMs if you have good enough skill.

I havent seen a necromancer zombie yet, but I'm butchering everything I kill just to be on the safe side. Going to try and move all my supplies into a house with a basement that I found.
