Its not hard to get into the outskirts of a town and sneaking into the center is nearly impossible anyway even if you had stealth options. As for quests as long as they are not too far into a town I do them for the training. Most of them are not that hard, about the hardest is the dog though the most luck driven one is the antidote one.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

I'm fine with it being difficult to sneak when there's literally hundreds of zombies in an area, but being able to keep low (Lowering movement speed but decreasing the chances of something seeing you), avoid line of sight (Even if it's just a skill check), and hide behind small obstacles like fences or counters would be fun. I'm not saying we should have stealth on the level of Skyrim or anything, just something to give you more options when you're looting a town.

Climbing would be another big one. Being able to climb onto a roof and roof hop would add a whole new level, especially if you could do it stealthily.

I am fine with the literal hiding the game currently has. If an object is big enough that you could hide behind you can though I must admit having an opaque fence type would be nice. Also climbing and multistory houses will come when they fix the z level problem. At the moment its not really in any form of decent. From what I understand the basements and such are quite a hack.

Zlevels are being worked on at the moment. And you can already avoid zombie LoS by keeping your distance, they can see I think 20 tiles fewer than you can.

Also, and I noticed this before, but to compare items you need to double-click I.

You need to select a direction to compare items from. I'll talk to Ozone about the message not appearing.

There are plans to add a number of stealth-like mechanics. I'm very much opposed to it being a skill, if only because it's something the player could/should/does have so much control over, and it's probably better handled with equipment, traits, and player tactics, though maybe skills might tie into it somehow.

(Most skills in the game are for things that are abstracted as the CHARACTER doing, while things like stealth are almost strictly in the hands of the player if designed well - it would be like having a 'scavenging' skill that determined the kind of loot you got in houses. Just a bit... out of place, I think, for this kind of game. A level of abstraction beyond what we want.)

Maybe a crouch mode of walking which makes you move slower but things like bushes and such block LoS to you and for you.

That's the sort of stuff we have planned. Lying down and rolling past windows lets you avoid zombies but slows you down, and leaves you very vulnerable if a hulk decides to do his Balrog impression.

And the addition of crawling would allow you to play a game of cat and mouse with the Velociraptors in the Kitchen, which is a terribly important game design consideration.

The lack of mirrors in this game disturbs me.

...YOU NEED TO ADD A CHANCE THAT IF HULK STANDS NEXT TO A WALL IT MIGHT DECIDE TO BASH THROUGH IT FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN WALL

SERIOUSLY YOU NEED TOO
