I would try finding a hospital and using those berries with a centrifuge, or however else you extract chemicals from things.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

2. You can only block with weapons that have a block attribute, and I know that the rapier has weak block. I don't know terribly much about the block mechanics in general, since all the weapons I use can't be blocked with.

3. On the original cataclysm setting, skill levels will be displayed in red when they have rusted below that level. So if it says 2.00, that means that your level in that skill is anyway from 1.00 to 1.99. Once it rusts below 1.00 it will display 1.00. It's extremely counterintuitive, I know. I usually play with skill rust capped at skill level. Skill rust is just too absurd at levels above 8 to manage otherwise.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

Serious suggestion:
Worn clothing does not appear in the "drop item" screen. You must take off the clothing first (which takes time). As it is, I can flex my arms and shunt 6 pairs of pants, underarmor, double holsters, double beltrigs, double trenchcoats, four backpacks and bags, four shoulderbags, socks, boots, helmet, and my monocle with no time lost.

With menus being selective and only displaying context relevant items, would it be possible to say, remove all worn clothing keybinds excepting from the "Take off" screen to free up the item limit? You can't really eat clothing, drop it without taking it off first, chop it up while wearing it, throw it without taking it off, etc etc. I'd really like to see someone try to sew up bag on their back without taking it off, you should really take off clothing even to patch it up. I'm not sure there's a single screen excepting the "take off" screen that requires binds on the worn clothing.

Speaking of working around the item limit, granted I'm not familiar with the workings and can't into code well enough to answer this for myself, but why can't we have a "page 1, page 2, page 3" etc for items past the 52 limit on a screen? You can carry over capacity, the overcapacity items do show up as a ' so the indexing system is only really limited by alphabetical symbols it can display, not the actual item indexing.

The item limit thing was discussed quite often.  It seems the reason is that whales originally designed it that way thinking that item limit was beyond what any player would reasonably need to carry.  I agree that you don't need to carry anywhere near that much stuff, but folks have different playstyles I guess.

Last I checked there is somebody working on revamping the item system to be more container based, which would probably have a side effect of removing the item limit.  But they just started, and it would be a big rewrite, so it would probably be a few versions away yet.

More buttons to press. We don't need more buttons to press. You are trying to get around in a hostile environment. You don't have time to look in your backpack and then in a box to see what will save your hide.

I think it makes for an interesting set of pros and cons.  You can carry more utility with you, but there's more planning involved in making proper use of that utility when needed.  For example, some things are designed as "oh shit" maneuvers that are rarely used.  You'd obviously want access to such a thing at a moment's notice, but then you have to consider that it takes up easy-access space that you might rather leave for things you use more frequently.

The game offers a way to organize which keys are for which items, so doesn't that simply mean your character can organize the items in his backpack or whatever for the more useful items to be easily reachable?

The only problem i have with the item limit is when I'm looting a bunch of low weight items. I don't think I would have trouble stuffing 50 bags of candy at the bottom and keeping all the important stuff on top. It's also unreasonable to only be able to carry 52 lighters/rags/other super small items

Yeah, the artificial limit is being removed. Instead there'll be time penalties depending on how full bags are and stuff.

In my latest video I actually manage to find a good farm to camp at. Quick question, is there a trick to making a spiked pit trap? I have the wood spear things,  I have pits, I have a shovel and yet it doesn't seem to want to let me make one. Also one more question, does digging pits put experience towards construction? Because it would be nice to be able to make a wall where window used to be (and by used to I mean it is completely gone and I can't just repair the window).
On the note about a higher item limit or what have you I have to ask, have you ever gotten that many things? The limit isn't in numbers of items but in stacks of items I believe so if it stacks you can carry however many fit in a stack.
All I would like with the items with the current system is a option that rebinds everything so that it all goes alphabetically rather then skipping around and using unnecessary capitals. IE if I had a hat at c, a bat at Q and a flashlight at Z and I did this it would rebind them to hat at a, bat at b, and flashlight at c.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

This has been talked about extensively as well. It comes down to user memory. If you use an item with key Q all the time, automatically switching to B or whatever is jarring. Letters should stay the same as much as possible, even when inventory changes. a, b, c is just as arbitrary as c, W, Z.

Ah, but I did not say do it automatically, I said have an option to do it like you can reassign a items letter already with the equal sign. Maybe you could put in an interface like the drop item one where you can select the ones you want reassigned.

You know what I would want? Burying items. No particular reason, just want stashes and graves.

I would be able to disregard building storehouses innawoods and just bury weapons and loot in the middle of wherever I am. :3 Great advantage for any shovel possessors, most of the shovels in my world are found on corpses already (if they didn't burn down with the corpse, for once)
