I personally think the evacuations started a few days ago and you just got there a day late when everything was taken and left. Don't feel bad, I bet the helicopter crashes are the military trying to evac civvies. Why else are there makeshift shotguns on military helicopters?

It's whatever you want.
You might dedicate your character to eradicating all of the triffids or fungaloids. You might build a mighty fort and let the zombies break themselves on your walls, you might gather up survivors and try to rebuild, you might just bugger off into the woods and live the rest of your life with nature.

Or you might dedicate yourself into becoming a super mutant and losing your mind in the process turning you into a blob that assimilates all matter around you eventually destroying the world and creating a large blob planet that is fully sentient that takes over the galaxy with its power psychic powers until Yog-Sothoth gets involved.

Be fun if you could summon a Great Old One or one of the Outer dieties. You lose of course but it would be interesting.
Even better because it is persistant you not only lose but everyone later looses too :D

It's a Great Old One. Genning a new world wouldn't stop it. Playing a diffferent game wouldn't stop it. Maybe dousing your computer in holy water and setting it on fire could stop it. Maybe.

This saddens me greatly...

If it helps I will eventually get back to it :)

That does help, thanks. NPC survivors would be such a boon for this game.

How far off is 0.3? I'm stuck in that space between updates where I feel it's too close to the next update, and I don't want to burn-out my drive to play the game before the new content.

My next video is up here. The title is a hint of the first bit but otherwise has nothing to really do with it but it seemed the best option for the video.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

At the moment.
Kevingranade needs to optimize the lightmap system, Shades needs to finish implementing Z-levels, Ozone is fixing up the last of the non scaling menus and I am auditing the crafting recipes and item stats.

How much work would it take to replace the pc's "@" with a sprite image?

Those sea serpents you sold me, they won't mate. They just swim around, eating, and not mating. You sold me... queer sea serpents. I want my money back.

Tase is working on a tileset system, then Deon will be making tiles.

I fervently hope we can build a Fort Zombie in the far future. Make a permanent base, recruit/save NPCs there to tend it (farm, build stuff, guard it etc) while you are away etc. Maybe build robots and turrets, wooo.

I saw some tiles in older forum already done by Deon :)

How likely is it for the game window to dynamically resize (the same way DF does) in the near future?

You can't farm or build robots but the rest you should already be able to do.

Yeah and i want programmable consoles and linking consoles to turrets and huge vault doors :D

Btw what is official view of programming correctness (e.g. if i will start going over the code and adding consts everywhere?)

Edit:
e.g.
Code: [Select]
bool inbounds(const int x, const int y);->bool inbounds(const int x, const int y) const; //btw const in parameter list is not very important (except when const Class& a is used ofc).
