Hmm I'd suggest that Zombies (except a few kinds such as shockers) slow down during freezing weather. Yet that would be an extreme amount of work wouldn't it?

speaking of weather, does rain reduce scent tracking?

Seems reasonable enough to add, just toss a check into monmove.cpp that reduces their movement point allocation when the temp is below a certain threshold.

Probably not, shall look into it.

Actually weather_effect wet and very_wet both reduce the scent map on outside squares in an area twice the sight distance each way from the player. Although as you now display more of the map this should probably be changed.

Another quick question: last night I fought off endless waves of zombies with a nail gun- does it make a loud noise like guns do and does it use the firearms skill?
Just noticed this was never really answered, but as far as I know Nailguns are basically silent for all intents and purposes. They won't increase spawn count, but will draw in any close by zombies.

I love the idea of child zombies, but this is just silly.

So much for my little bit of leeway time. To be fair, at that point I was nearly at the end of the quiet phase anyway. But I had spent the majority of it running from the first batch of kids, and subsequently encountering more and more.

The green 0s are parks on the world map. Zombie children reside there before the spawn timer even sets off, so I guess the solution is to avoid them. But the children are fast fast fast, so I started running north, encountering more and more parks along the way.

Do zombies get cold? They are cold blooded creatures.
To be precise, they're goo-blooded creatures.

Since butchering one nets "Tainted Meat (hot)" I'd say they count as warm blooded.

Every time I play I wish I was better at this game. People are posting about trying to achieve 1000mph with a custom made vehicle whereas I always get slaughtered by zombies that are exactly as fast as and much more numerous than me.
