Does using bandages to stop the bleeding use the first aid skill to decide if it works or not? I ended up using 5 bandages on my torso to try to stop the bleeding with no effect at all, not even a failure message. Using a rag after that stopped the bleeding immediately. Are bandages not working for stopping blood or was I just failing without getting feedback on it?

Use the stop bleeding option, you don't use them on the body part.

Herp derp ><

I didn't see the new option. Thanks for clearing that up.

Edit: It seems I may have run into a bug. A flask of mutagen in my inventory ended up getting assigned the '(apostrophe) key, but when I go into the consume menu, it shows up as having the "a" key, pressing "a" results in an error message telling me I do not have that item.

Edit2: apparently I cannot interact with the flask of mutagen as pressing the ' key in the inventory closes it while using it from any other interaction menu gives "You don't have item '''!" I can't even change its letter. Is there a way to fix that? a way to force-drop it?

Edit3: After dropping some items, the flask of mutagen showed up as letter "i" in the drop menu, which allowed me to drop it, pick it back up, and have a proper key assigned to it.

Thanks,

Another question, how can i change the font to have a "squared" view ? The vehicles are fine when i drive east or west, but they look stupid when i go north or south. Is it DDA related, or my Linux Terminal related ?

I've seen this :

Quote
Open the fontdata file in your data folder (might need an editor like notepad++ or something) and change 'terminus' to whatever font you want.

And i changed :

Terminus
8 16
16

No effect.

Open the data folder and edit the file "FONTDATA" with notepad or whatever text editor you want, set both values to 16 and your tiles will be square.

Is there a way to cure the mushroom/spore infection? A flaming eye just seems to have given it to me and I know too well what awaits me if I can't get rid of it.

Fontdata is only for Windows, no idea for Linux terminals. And Royal jelly cures all.

In the windows version at least, there seems to be a bug with clearing up the name of stuff on the map screen. If I move the selection to a sporting goods store and then move it to a house, the result is "houseing goods store"

I just had an odd thought and I have an urge to try some science.  Time to see if an oven can contain a fire for cooking!

FOR ‼SCIENCE‼

*comes back slightly charred*

The answer is no.  It does not.  That neighborhood was overrated anyway.

I remember running into a wood stove. I think it was in a cabin. You might have more luck with that... or burn the entire nearby forest.

That actually seems to work. Though further experimentation shows that it may have been my choice of fuel that made the fire spread in the case of the oven. (I used a round of SKS ammo).

The wood stove did indeed contain the fire.  And it even 'contained' the 3x3 fire that rifle ammo as fuel apperantly makes.  Though that was probably through the tiles surrounding the wood stove being rock floor instead of normal burninate-able floor.

A second test with an oven using splintered wood also marginally contained the fire.  However once I placed 4 more 2x4s in the oven the fire spread.  So an oven might just be resistant to burning, as long as the fire doesn't get too big.

In conclusion, an oven fire won't immediately burn your house down, long as you don't do crazy stuff with fuel.  And a wood stove seems perfectly safe for just about any fire, as long as you can deal with smoke.

EDIT: Bug Report

My starting NPC gave me a quest to kill his mom.  When I got to his house a big perfectly square chunk of the house was just empty dirt floor.  As if spawning the mom caused the chunk of map to freak out.  The mom was nowhere to be found.

I think I might beat me previous record of 7 days of survival. I got real lucky with mutations. My karate martial-artist ended up with horns and claws >:). I just need to find a way to safely get to the vehicles in the nearby town and back out. going into town is hard now that I've smashed my pedal-bike into a tree while trying to fruitlessly escape a cougar... damn those things run fast.

Is there a way to split stacks of items? That would be rather helpful.
