On that topic, making computers more intresting would be nice. Especially if you could carry them around and just edit .txt files with them. Easy in-game inventory keeping.
Definitely need that. But writing in books would also be good.
Pfft. We need a procedural poem generator.

Update should be soon. Will have Item Listing, Temperature effects, Item Comparing, Predamaged vehicles, slightly randomized vehicle part stats, a resizable view area, probably a load of stuff I'm forgetting too.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

From playing I have also seen...
farms out in the wilderness (lots of barbed wire, the barn seems to have a good chance of holding some rarer tools, like welders, shovels, and chainsaws, excellent safehouses.)

There are map containers now.  You can't see if there is anything in a fridge or dresser now unless you walk up to it and examine it up close.

Also it appears that houses are no longer exercises in minimalism, and contain more furniture.

You can start bleeding when you get hit now, it leaves a blood trail and ticks hp away.  Rags can be used to stop the bleeding, or it will eventually stop on it's own.

I'll be making the furniture look a little nicer when I properly release.

Welders are rare items? Wow I guess I have just gotten really lucky then; I have some 10 welders at my current safe house at the moment. Just got a chainsaw finally ^_^ and going to go with my jerrycans to the gas station to fill up :) I noticed that I was bleeding from my torso after a skirmish with some wolves. That was a new experience. Got down to 10 torso hp so I popped some pain pills, and ran back to my safehouse to spam first aid kits and bandages. Digging the newer colors they make it way easier to see where the entrances to the megastores are. I still haven't gone into one though... What's inside of a megastore? All I know is that there is a seemingly very very large number of zombies in there (going by the sounds I hear when I walk around the outside)

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

Megastores have a shitload of zombies and a pseudorandom assortment of goods. Each square gets its own shop type, where it spawns items from that store.

And you can use rags to stop bleeding.

Well I suppose welders used to be rare.  When garages were put in they became significantly less so.  Used to be the only place you could find them were hardware stores, and they rarely show up there.

Megamalls are kind of a combination of clothing stores, hardware stores, sporting goods stores, and grocery stores.  They carry a lot of everything that shows up in other stores.  But they also hold a ton of green zeds too.

EDIT: I appear to have found a bug.  Under VM Virtualbox linux last commit on the git when I updated is zpmorgan's bigness transfer fix.
My map is telling me I'm in a forest at a house, but I'm clearly in a town at a pawn shop.
Spoiler: Screenshot (click to show/hide)
Perfectly willing to send a save... as soon as somebody tells me how I access files inside Virtualbox on the host operating system. I reinstalled the game from scratch thinking I may have updated it wrong.  That probably killed the save.

Where do you find the lockpicks at? I haven't played too much of the git-builds yet so haven't encountered them just yet. Please don't be in a super obvious place that I forgot to check >.< Like houses... I've been skipping houses since I generally don't carry my crowbar most of the time anymore. Doing a lot of starts with no skills other than a point in dodge and stuffing the rest into stats and traits since they are more important and harder to alter.

You can find picklock kits in pawn shops and houses.

Damn houses! Okay, at least they are also in pawn shops. I haven't gone into a pawn shop since I first started playing when I got devastated by a robocop. I honestly thought it was just gonna arrest me for some reason so I let it get into melee range and boom! dead before I could run away :(
