Hey, I just discovered this game a couple days ago and have been having a blast playing. I've got a few questions though, how are you supposed to train the mechanics, electronics, and computer skills to 1 if your character is too dumb to read the basic books? Also, what's a quick reliable way to get mutations when going for a mutant build?

1. Drugs, meth works best
2. Craters and Waste Disposals, oh and mutagen

Guess I won't make anymore low-int characters. Meanwhile, this one will become a meth-head.

I really don't get why eating unborn babies mutate you.

....So does that means those Japanese demon statues things were humans until they ate too many babies and transformed?

all while uncovering the secret of why the world was really destroyed

Let me guess... EVERYTHING destroyed it.

There are soo many things going wrong in this game that it is a miracle that humans were even around.

I wonder...would a tile-set be possible?
I find it easier to learn a game by having a tile-set at least for the beginning.
(Then I usually have no problem with ASCII, but I do believe a tileset would help the starters)

“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.
“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.

My dream would be to see CDDA merged with the engine from Underrail

Unfortunately that engine isn't open source so it's hard to port it in. Otherwise I'd have been tempted too.

Most of my Chars these days have 13 starting int, means you can read any book, just more convenient.

Ooh, I didn't know that. That's really handy.

Also, is there any way to raise your base stats at all? Or will they forever remain the same and only your Skills will increase?

A couple of biotics can change them, as well as getting EXTREMELY lucky with mutations.

I think the only way to raise stats now is via mutation, bionics, and artifacts.
