Yeah, the style is definitely going a different direction from most of the more graphical tilesets. I wish I had a monitor big enough that I could use it yet not lose any vision range on my end.

Same here, inEquality. Hmmm, is there a rough record of changes anywhere, perhaps a wiki? Otherwise I'll just jump in.

Bare bones its the same game, spawn, gather equipment, fights otherworldly horrors.
The biggest (And I believe best change) for me was static spawn becoming default. It makes early game MUCH harder but makes the rest of the game more satisfying for me in that I can clear a town of Zombies and not have the noise you make from farting coalesce into more magic zombies.
Also you can actually explore lower Z levels without them crashing the game now which is my strongest memory of Whales Cataclysm.

The coolest bits for me?

New Buildings,
New items
New Zombies
New not zombies
New cars
More sensible cars
More car parts
Broken down/totaled cars clogging the streets in cities
Siphon gas from wrecked cars
Flaming swords
Very slow farming
Warmth
and much more!

Does the farming actually work now? I knew it was kinda in but not how to do it or if you could.

It takes about a season and a half per crop, I believe was the growth rate.  So, it technically works...

Is it tied to seasons or to days? I might just make my seasons last longer.

Erm, wait..so if we lower the 'season' time, crop growth also 'lessens'? O_o

Ugh the wiki needs to be updated.

It might be linked to the days, but easy way to check.
(One day seasons, or at worst two day ones)

So I had an idea for a small item.  It's one of these:
http://www.dandavats.com/wp-content/uploads/ounter.jpg
A small counter that can fit 2-3 in the palm of your hand easily, so a zero volume zero weight item.  When activated, it increases its count by one.  When unloaded, it resets to zero.  It could be crafted from one clockwork part (the kind that come out of deconstructed clocks) and one metal scrap, using a screwdriver, or found infrequently in electronics stores and garages.

There's no specific use for this, but I can imagine many small uses, such as trying to count the number of houses you've raided in a new town so you can backtrack your progress and figure out what still needs to be looted, or just personally counting the number of special zombies you've managed to kill using only a gold bar and pair of boxers.

Do it the badass way, with notches on your weapon!

How does one erase a notch?

...actually, can you erase notches?  I've never bothered checking out the carving interface.  What does it do, exactly?

It just lets you put an additional bit of text in the item's description (i.e. 'on the item there's a carved message: [Whatever]'), and marks up the carved item with *s.

So I ran into something weird - started in fall, survived to winter, and all of a sudden the food I'm finding is fresh again. Items like yogurt, apple cider, orange juice, etc are all spawning fresh as though the apocalypse started two days ago. Kind of weird. Probably a bug, I just think it's kind of funny.
