I thought I saw a way to have internal lights... That you build as such.
I wish - that said it's probably not hard to make a 'lamp' vehicle item which illuminates a 3x3 or 5x5.  Just snip some of the code for headlights and make them spheres.

You should be able to install lighting strips as cabin lighting with a screwdriver, IMO.

It just means it's under things and slightly protected.

Can a kitchen unit be installed on an interior tile?  I messed around with it for a while, and the game wouldn't let me build one under a roof at all.

As for the lighting questions, just use a lightstrip.  It's really easy to make, lasts forever, and only takes 1 volume.

Well, it has to be on a vehicle, not a building.  But I just mounted one onto a bare frame.

Yeah... I was talking about on a vehicle.

Try using a board instead of a frame. For some reason I couldn't install it on a bare frame, but i could on a board.

Where do you find these kitchen units? I've been perusing the whole city in my modified APC (well..in my mind it's like one. :P) and yet no sight of kitchen units.

Though I love how the solar panels were fixed in the experimental 7.1

Love them so much.

You have craft the kitchen units, they're under MISC and consume something like 2 pipes, a rubber hose, pot, pan, hammer, and screwdriver.

They're pretty awesome too.  They draw from water tanks installed with clean water, and use charges from the vehicle's storage batteries, so you can craft things like "jarred meat" using the vehicle's own water, and the vehicle's storage battery, so you just show up with a jar and meat!

I was wondering where the power was coming from when I was cooking on my bed.

The more you know. :D

Kitchens.... oh no... the recent spambot has gotten to us all!
Run, run before you get sold some pots and pans!

Hrmm.... post apocalyptic spambot has a nice, horrible ring to it...

Is there a place to get 0.71 in Catacurses? I've given up on the SDL due to the font thing, but the only windows link under "stable" on the main site leads to that version. I'm wary about the experimental version... (I prefer stability to features, but I want my folding bike damnit)

I checked the release topic on the forum but it appears to still have 0.7 instead.

Oftentimes the experimental version is more stable than the released one, because bug fixes are in there quickly.
