Some items can be reinforced with a soldering iron and cut-up plastic chunks. Sunglasses and kevlar (and some helmets) and stuff.

Didn't know that.  Nice.

What skill is that based off of? Tailoring? Mechanics?

Huh. Anyway, we really need a written down tutorial/basic guide.

I have no idea. Next time I'm playing I'll go grab an army helmet or shredded backpack and check. My last guy had an unfortunate early Jabberwocking so I don't have the materials at hand yet.

EDIT: I lied, I did have stuff around. It's based on Mechanics. Probably not a great method to train with unless you find a ton of plastic, but it's easy reinforcement on kevlar, helmets, glasses, backpacks.

WHY IS THIS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE?!

Can you repair or reinforce items like Chitinous Gauntlets?

It would be easier to craft them again, considerin the absurd spawn rate of spiders.

You know, I take back the easy leveling bit.  You can use a soldering iron on safety glasses to practice mechanics the same way a sewing kit practices tailoring. All you spend is 1 battery per practice attempt.

That's very cool, I've always just assumed that stuff like helmets and gas masks were irreparable, and kept spares. I suppose it would've been obvious using 'a' on a soldering iron, but I've never bothered. I'm now a bit curious if you can take in the fit on a rain coat with a soldering iron... it creates an interesting mental image.

Worth noting - you'll fall asleep perfectly fine during acid rain, driving your pain up to the 70's once you wake up and preventing you from running away from ANYTHING.  You'd think being drenched in acid might wake you up...

So this town seems to be getting more streaks of lava in it.

Also the nothern bit of town has a slime pit and swarming with blobs. And the town section I have more or less cleared out, is starting to get over ran with animals.

As far as I can tell, animals never stop spawning.  So after you've cleared the zombies, wildlife moves in rather abundantly.  For me it's mostly spiders.  So lots of chitin and meat!
